Sorry to ask but what is a candidate?
And what is different with nightly stuff?
I'm pretty noob with ikemen and english is not my main language at all.

No new features will be added to a release candidate, only bugs will be fixed, and after fixing known bugs, the stable 1.0 version will be released - it will no longer be a moving target for content creators, like the Nightly currently is.

Basically, it's the first pre-release of a stable Ikemen Go 1.0.

A release candidate for I.K.E.M.E.N. Go. eh? It's unbelievable that a split from M.U.G.E.N. is doing better than the orginal.

With this release, the reign of Mugen has come to an end. A new fighting game engine has taken its place in the creative zeitgeist and... You know what? Forget the pretentious rambling and party! We're free!
Hopefully, I'll be able to make the little puffball on my profile pic someday.
(Credit to Zeku for the digitized 3D model used as reference and Scrollboss for the base and bits of line art that may have slipped into the final sprite)

I have a friend I want to convert from MUGEN to IKEMEN, but he won't fully transition if the said features are not in the latest revision, and this is what he stated:
Have they added an alternate window resolution mode from Mugen 1.1 into Ikemen yet?
Last time I tried it, you couldn't configure your window res like Mugen, where you can have windowed mode, for example at 2560x1440 or 1920x1080 size window, but still keep the native resolution higher, like at 2160p.
That was a big turn-off for me switching to ikemen go.
Also, the add004 slow camera feature - if they added that back into Ikemen Go along with the Mugen 1.1 Mugen window mode settings, I would call it truly surpassed and may consider switching engines.
Till then, it lacks 2 of my fav features.

I have a 1920x1080 (or 1080p) native moniotor resolution and currently set as such.

In the config.ini I have the game resolution set to 720p:

GameWidth                = 1280
GameHeight               = 720

I can play in a small window on the desktop. When I switch to full screen Ikemen does not change the monitor resolution at all and just upscales 720p -> 1080p and draws it in full screen.

I'm on Linux though, but I assume it works the same on Windows.

I can't answer this directly, but I suspect there were some similar features implemented as Ikemen modules. You should check out Ikemen modules on Ikemen's Discord or just ask people there.

Thanks for the response I also created a Q&A question on the Github page about the Screen resolution and the slow camera feature, but no response yet on them.

Thanks, I got the idea.
So, it still takes some of the recent nightly version.

And as always it's been over a year and things go from bad to worse, what is even the point currently? adding new AI made logo with kana is fine but if it barely works then is pointless, now i understand why the arknight release guys are delaying the game so much because with each update release they practically killed the supported hardware and software.
as someone said in the past "if you want to make an experimental version fine do it by all means but don't try to force everyone to use experimental version by adding flashy things that won't make the cut or will be removed later, always make sure to have all the experimental versions archived specially if you ask for support" which is something ikemen go doesn't have.
- Want to make a custom arcade machine with a custom game from scratch using ikemen go.
- features of windows embedded are different so won't work.
- options are either windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8
- they removed support silently for those OS
- want to put the issue on the github... they only allow posts from the "regular" users
now i understand why there is barely new content even when there are new resources and assets available.

Why should I downgrade when I have the latest Nightly build?

Why should I downgrade when I have the latest Nightly build?

NB it's an instable version and may have code regressions. There's no guarantee that anything done in NB will work on future stable versions.

Why should I downgrade when I have the latest Nightly build?

If you are just a player and want to use Nightly, then by all means, go for it.

However, if you are a content creator, then you need a stable version to target your creations for and to test against - you most likely don't want to chase the Nightly build, constantly updating your characters or stages, possibly every day, to any changes that are made in Nightly.
