This thread, I frankly think will be short.
This thread will now be my WIP thread, so I don't expect it to be short .

I'm currently updating Violent Ken (necessary). I'd like to, if you happen to have its first release, receive some feedback on what should be changed, tweaked, etc. Plus, I'm adding some things that were missing on it. Like for example its Midnight Bliss animation.

Also, I started to plan custom intros vs certain chars for both, God Rugal and Violent Ken. I already have one (kinda simple) intro for V.Ken vs Vega/Bison. Feel free to post your ideas for custom intros for either character. Ah yes, I also planned to add a special intro for G. Rugal vs V.Ken. You'll see.

Off-topic: Is Winane dead? I've been trying to contact him for a while now but to no success .

For Violent Ken, the must-have intros, are Vega/Bison and Ryu. I dunno who else. Orochi Iori? Gouki? Don't know who else.

God Rugal, I suppose against Orochi itself and (Shin) Gouki. Maybe Goenitz? Don't know much about KoF history.

VK has an animation at the beginning of his Shinbu Messatsu that may be useful for most or all of those, the brief "freaking out" one. He appears to combine aspects of Psycho Power (declared someone in SvC, I think), Stasui no Hadou and Orochi, so those you mentioned would work, as would Goenitz and other major orochi characters - Yashiro at least.

Goenitz would be adequate, he and Rugal have some history (G took R's eye and gave him an orochi boost). Other characters Rugal has history or special intros with in KoF games are Saishyu, Chris, Kyo and Heidern in the very least. Since it's God Rugal you're working on, on the capcom side Gouki should be enough, otherwise everyone he turned into a statue might make for a decent intro.

For the intro for G.Rugal vs V.Ken, I was thinking on a speech intro ala SvC. They would argue, then do a semi-original intro pose. Fight then starts. Good or bad idea?

Btw, I'm still receiving any bug/error feedback on V.Ken .

The thing with the speech is that (at least from what I've seen) text based intros can seem Hokey. I'd hate to see something like:
Rugal: You're strong.
Ken: You're strong. Let's fight!
It'd just be a let down. I'm all for a special pose for them, but text just seems like an addon that is sometimes better left not being used. Also, if you did go text based, what would they say? They've had really no personal quarrels within the crossover games.

It is entirely up to you if you want text, I just wouldn't want a few poor words to ruin the intro.

Lol. It certainly wouldn't have that speech dullness. I could throw in practically whatever I want. Maybe even them breaking the fourth wall, dunno.

Not to keen on a speech for reasons already stated above, but some animation that'll make sense for both of them would be cool, them being "semi-orochified" "satsui-no-hadoued" crossover characters - what comes to mind as an intro is the two of them dashing at each other from opposite from their opposite sides (Ex: Ken's player 1 and he dashes from the right) so that they clash in the middle of the screen on the way to their places, and when they do clash the screen would go briefly dark with only the orochi energy pillar with the skull in it appearing quickly, perhaps a coupld of times, as an effect of the clash.

Chloe OS'ed her stuff?... All of it?... interesting, I might look into a silly old idea inspired by LimitedMoon's Pocket Athena...

And another thing, do you plan to keep the AI teleport-spam friendly? It is quite consistent in Rugals title as a Boss.

@Loona: Interesting idea, Loona. It could also be a tribute (or parody, depending on your point of view) to the classic Gouki vs E.Ryu intro. I'll work on it.

@Deviant: You wanted me to add Misogi to G.Rugal right? If you get me some nice-looking sprites I MIGHT add it . And yeah, I don't think I'll touch AI for now. Too lazy.

Got some free time today, so I made the intro for God Rugal vs Violent Ken As you will see, it is kind of a homage to the classic Gouki vs Evil Ryu intro:
They rush at each other


Hey grab each other


Make hitsparks on each other


Orochi skull explodes while they back off. Fight then begins.



To do list:
- Keep updating/tweaking Violent Ken (NEED FEEDBACK ON BUGS AND SUCH)
- Add the counterattack after the dodge motion (a+x) to both characters.
- Replace those bad-looking flame animations for the flames of PotS' chars (permission asked and granted of course).
- Some minor AI tweak here and there for G.Rugal. And a good update on Violent Ken's AI.
- G.Rugal needs two moar custom intros (Orochi's is already planned, so I'm just missing one).
- Violent Ken needs one moar custom intro (accepting ideas).

A few bugs I found in:

-Sometimes the Shinbu Messatsu don't do all the hits and the P2 stay in stand anim
after the shin shoryuken, instead of receive the damage and goes to the air.

He's a good char to play, nice work


a few suggestions for intro:

-VS Vega: Vega stays in stand v.ken too, but Vega ignores him and v.ken flame his punch with psycho power and Vega be surprised and laugh.

-VS Orochi Iori; Iori (CvS): A couple of ''friendly fight'' just a imitation of the intro of iori vs vega.

-VS Gouki; Shin Gouki: A couple of punches and kicks, finishes with a ''   
Your level not yet is next to mine, continues trying'' way or something like that.
