this is weird, everytime i open up mugen, it crashes n i have the mfj screenpack, i put alot of characters n stages. how can i fix this. much help will be appreciated

Does it give an error message ? If not, it may come from a character, and this is how to solve the problem :
Remove all the characters, and include only one. Test. Does mugen work.
If yes, start inserting them again, 10 by 10, until you find the character causing the crash.

yeah tan error message comes up, n its weird cause i nvr had this problem before

Well ... maybe you could tells us this error message then. (You know, a doctor can't give you a treatment if you don't start by describing your symptoms)

Erf, typicaly the type of error message that doesn't help. It's wondows related and not mugen related.

So my first idea may have been the right one. Try removing all but one char from your chars folder and try to make it work from there.

Just by curiosity, did you press the key "Q"?
Pressing it causes mugen to crash. Why? I don't know, it just does.
