Sometimes the music works for stages, but other times it doesn't work, it's like 50/50 chance that it's actually going to work. **Does anyone here know how to fix this?** I added the sound/nameofthesong.mp3 to bgmusic=. I noticed that some do not even have the bgvolume=. Also, is there any way to increase the sound?

Thanks

First off: You need plug-ins: http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=40388.0

Second, to increase sound, go into Data/mugen.cfg (Open it with Notepad) and scroll down to...:

  ;This is the master volume for all wav sounds (affects mp3 volume).
  ;Valid values are from from 0 to 255.
MasterWavVolume = 128

  ;Set the volume of wav, midi, mods and CD audio.
  ;Note: WavVolume does not affect mp3 or mod volume.
  ;Valid values are from from 0 to 255.
  ;For CDAVolume only, using -1 will leave the volume unchanged.
WavVolume = 128
MidiVolume = 192
MP3Volume = 255  ;This affects all Winamp-compatible plugins as well
ModVolume = 80
CDAVolume = -1

Up. I'm also interested in this. I have the plugins that come with SNK vs Capcom Ultimate and my mp3s work fine, and are always audible, but ocassionally, they get stuck at the beginning. I've only noticed this with intros and menu's mp3s, not with stages music.

To anyone interested, I fixed the problem with the mp3s by converting them to ogg. I tried everything before, different dlls, different settings etc. Sometimes I got stuttering, others no sound, others corrupted sound, etc. The easiest way was to convert my intro and menu sounds (the only ones with which I had problems). However, with dbpoweramp, the resulting files had some kind of hiss or noise, even with the top quality setting. I tried with Adobe Audition and the result is perfect, the same as the original mp3.

F*ck this bullsh*t.

It's amazing how mugen can screw up for trivial reasons such as this...they're some damn mp3s...

And those plug-ins don't solve the problem completely. Only has the problem decreased to about 1/2 after I got all those plug-ins for my mugen. The tracks sometimes do not play/stutter (ESPECIALLY the title screen song and character selection song).

Am I heading down the path of evil...again?

Just use ogg's instead of mp3's. google for a free convertor, or if you have it, Adobe Audition is the best. I haven't had a single problem, no stutter, no missing music, since I changed.
