Thats why they are Ultra RARE classics. I guarantee you if you go to any Gamestop, or wherever you "buy" UR games, you will find copies of CVS2, but you will not find any copies of MvC2, not even for the XBOX.
Games turn Ultra RARE when they stop selling, that's hardly a point in favor of MvC2. :P

Which is better, MvC or GG?
GG's gameplay always seemed a bit clunky to me, MvC's (well, Capcom in general) responds much better... may be just the game speed.

yes really... the reason mvc2 is sold out everywhere is because marvel took their license back from capcom long before capcom vs. snk... thus a shortage of stock..... being rare has no indication on whether it's gameplay is superior to cvs..

Yeah. Mostly people who are completely horrible at the game call a game a "Masher"

The only game worthy of that title is Killer Instinct for SNES.

I think that MvC is better because of gameplay and I love the crossover idea to see people like spider-man team up with Ryu, but thats just my opinion.

That's exactly how the choice is. If you perfer CvS over MvC, then there you go.

In terms of pricing, I like CvS more because I can walk into gamestop and buy CvS2 for like $15
MvC2 costs ruffly $70, and sometimes more or less online.

Killer Instinct Gold for the N64 was more of a masher...

I could never get into the CvS style of fighting and other games of a similar nature, although I'm improving.

[insert "Thank you MUGEN" commercial here]

But in terms of simplicity, MvC hands down.  Combos and supers are easy to manage without mashing buttons together and getting crap out of nowhere (even though it starts off that way at first, as with all fighting games).  And the tag-team play is fun, especially using tag supers, of course.

Killer Instinct Gold for the N64 was more of a masher...

I don't quite agree with that assessment.  Killer Instinct's combo system is just recognizing which punch/kick button(s) connect with which special move and/or the next punch/kick button in the chain for a specific character, and that, at times, could be complicated, but can be done with time; not to mention how to time combo breakers right.  To me, the Namco fighting games, like Soul Calibur and Tekken, are "masher" games.  Any person can press any two or three buttons at random and whip out a special move and/or combo without knowing what happened.

Then again, any game can be a masher if no one puts enough time into practicing moves, combos and whatever else.  (Yet another random rant by yours truly. *sigh*)

Check out my YouTube page here.  It might not be on a professional level, but it\'s a start.

Robert The Small

CvS, purely because it takes skill and practice to be good, and remembering combo strings, not just "Oh, I did this Random awesome combo, too bad I was hitting random buttons and forgot it"

MvC and MvC2 use the same engine though, so how can you not know what you're doing?

<-Is a pro in MvC.  ;)
I've heard that line before. Doesn't really prove anything.

Yeah, i can't even say I'm pro and I've been playing for 5 years. I can say i'm skilled though

Cyanide

I enjoy MvC's AI, i have no interest in playing it vs humans as they'll know the abuse and infinites and beat the hell out of me. My strategy is good but my execution is lacking.

KoF however, i hate the AI, i can generally beat the end boss but it requires a lot of lameness and bug abuse on my part. Playing humans is immensely fun. (i need to play you some time tempest to see how you differ from neo who tells me i'm lame ;P) Using strategy and timing to get in a DM or a couple of powerful hits is much better than hitting keys madly so your opponent spends all their game blocking.

KoF kinda = CvS in terms of overall styling and i never got into the game that much.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

MooMaster

MvC and CvS are both good game, but i perfer MvC more only because MvC is Funner play. I like CvS in a way because it's a little harder and not to mention it played like a...well a street fighter game even though there were Snk characters in it.

I dunno About kof though, I own kof 99 and i really don't like how it plays, maybe the newer ones are better i don't know but if they are then it's worth giving it a shot.

Guilty Gear is Defintally better than CvS. I really like Mortal Kombat too ;D, but even i have to admit that it's not the the best, but it's still fun.
Smash Bros is a really fun and good fighter too (If you count that as a fighting game)

So in my opinion i would have to give it to MvC over CvS...But by a little bit, But if it were in general it would go Smash Bros First, Guilty Gear and MvC Second, CvS Third, And MK 4th. ;D
No

OZ

GG had one hit KO moves, and was still considered challenging.
Impressive.
