First attack and Danger, how to implement?

Some screenpacks have these features included in chars, but Broken Mugen has it in the screenpack itself. I have seen that it's in common1.cns. Then, the sprites for the animations are in ffightfx.sff. I've tried copy/paste but nothing works. Sorry but my knowledge is very basic. Could anyone please be so kind to explain how to do this? What code do I have to copy or what I have to do? The code has a lot of stuff for displaying words for every kind of attack, but I'm only interested in 'first attack' and 'danger' (when life is close to 0). Thanx a lot.

Blacktiger

I replaced my common1.cns with the one from Broken Mugen and it didn't work. Then I used a text search tool and I found out that the missing references to the animations are in ffight.air. I've copied the codes there and voila! it's working. Now I have to get rid of all the unnecessary stuff, and of course replace the ugly sprites from the broken screenpack.

Blacktiger

I've left just the necessary animations in ffight.air, but with common1.cns I have problems knowing what to copy to make this work. I think it will be easy to just replace my common1.cns completelly. Any drawbacks? I cannot get the first attack and danger anims except if I get the full code in my common1.cns. I have no idea what are all this codes and references for, so it's a bit difficult. What I'd like to know is: what exactly is needed for the first attack and danger to work. That's all.

Blacktiger

Do you know why this doesn't work with some chars?

Cyanide

Some characters use their own common.cns file for specific gethit and animation features. As such, your additions won't take effect.

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Blacktiger

I suppose that cannot be disabled either with a generic change or editing any char file?

Cyanide

No, you'd have to go on a character by character basis.
