My first character. :D

What's in so far:
-Basic states
-Basic attacks (uppercut, baseball swing, big thrust, jump attack, slide)
-Super armour (will have optional magnitude levels, can be disabled)
-Guard crush (will add option to disable against chars who already have their own guard guages)
-Dragon Fire attack (still need various elemental effects)
-Emerald Arc (that big green slash)
-Mirror Attack (needs a better name :(  ...also needs a background for the mirror scene)
-Armour Split Attack (also needs a name >_<)
-Selectable "custom" and "accuracy" modes
-AI (basically spams moves that probably won't miss, i.e. what he does in the original game :P)

What needs to be done before release:
-Refinements on damage levels, frame data, velocities, etc.
-Any bugfixes
-Palettes

What's going to be done at leisure:
-Hit sparks
-Elemental effects on Dragonfire (as far as Mugen is concerned, purely cosmetic)
-Extra attacks (e.g. a basic throw)
-Magic Orbs, Strikers, etc.
-Midnight Bliss  ;P

Credits:
-[E] for mame builds for ripping sprites
-Kensuke for advice and ideas
-Sorrowedge for super armour code
-Winane for XOR AI activation method

He has his green energy-wave uppercut thingy and his Dragonfire attack as specials, with his mirror attack and armour-splitting attack as supers. I've edited in the cape for the Dragonfire, but during his capeless supers he removes his cape during the superpause, gains hyper-armour during the move, and gets the cape back afterwards. Apart from this, I'm aiming for accuracy. Guard Crush is in, and seems to work alright for tag team. There's also options to exclude specific characters who have their own GC systems.

One problem is that even with all of his original moves, he's a rather limited character; all big, slow, blockable hits and projectiles. Once he reaches a reasonable level of accuracy, I hope to add (optional) edits like a basic throw, more regular attacks, and maybe one of those charge-up unblockables. He may possibly use Warzard's elemental orbs and other monsters as strikers, but this may be taking it too far.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

ChronicDreamer

well friend, he looks wicked cool in the screenshots, good luck  :)

Ryuji

One of the most expected chars for me as i was a huge Warzard Fan. ;D

mmm ..It looks that big because Mugen hasn´t  the Zoom feature that Warzard and Sf3 had. Maybe reescaling him a bit to be a little smaller....

Iced

From the shots I can tell that he is misaligned. notice his right foot and the shadow.

BulletSaint

Looks awesome, but as Iced said, he's misaligned.

MUGEN needs Warzard, and Warzard has commeth to you. Just fix the noticeable errors, and you're on your way to MUGEN heroism.

Also, Midnight Bliss version plox, unless he's ungrabable.

Oh, and to fix the alignment of the character, just align the floor with the left foot (your right). Just know that you often need to pick the position of the highest foot, unless it looks really bad in-game.

Because, It's Midnite

Not so sure about this one, because Blade has a big gap between the height of his two feet. Same problem happened to Mature4Evr with his Hauzer.

Haku Akechi

Sprite does look misalligned to its shadow compare to KFMs

My opinion on the strikers is that well don't go overboard on it. Since you will have to like rip and allign them as well to the character to make him look smooth and flowing..

Internet Champion Jesus

Ah, glorious Jihad. I've waited for your arrival in MUGEN.

Well, it's either the left foot is a bit off and the right is pretty bad, or the left foot is ok and the right is terrible, especially with reflections. That, and his left leg extends more into the background than most. Depends which most people find more palatable; will take some screens later for you to compare.

And w00t, thankies for the support! :D

EDIT: Right foot doesn't look too bad, actually. Will probably stick to the new alignment, if no-one else objects.
EDIT2: Linked to wrong image. :P

EDIT3: By the way, I'm trying to make sure that everything he has works with any xscale and yscale values, so if he's too big/small/pixellated, you can just change the basic data settings.

4TH EDIT TOO MANY: Yes, I know I should move him down one more pixel to align his left heel. It's been done. :P

Many people risk their lives everyday by having Mugen.

Doggiedoo

Thanks, it's already in for helper offsets and the like.

Also applying it to player width, hitdef vels and snaps, etc.

MegaZeo

Warzard looks awesome, Doggie. Can't wait to see him in action.

Ohsky

Did u managed to rip the original warzard hitsparks?, like those that Mai-Ling have already, u know.

Doggiedoo

Added his sweeping energy slash... dubbed "Emerald Arc" for want of an official name.  Don't know if I can make the effect closer to the game; ideally, the background colours would be inverted too, behind the slash, but AFAIK that's not possible in Mugen. Trying negative alpha values just screwed things up. >_< Substituted in a strobe effect to keep a flashy look.

Haven't ripped hitsparks yet. I'm receiving help there from Kensuke, so I'm focusing on getting his original moves together while those are taken care of. They'll be in by the first beta release.

Sounds on the other hand, may not. Does anyone know how NHK ripped Tao/Mai-Ling's sounds? Can't find any options in Mame or ElSemi's emulator to disable music channels only.

Violin Ken

You can rip the sounds in sound & voice test mode.  In CPS3-emu, push f2 to get to the test menu.

Ooh, thanks. Forgot games used to have sound tests. :P

Can anyone recommend a simple, small program for recording audio output? The trial versions of Sound Forge, Wavelab, and other popular programs are too large for me to download on my current dail-up. Something under 10 megs would be ok, under 5 would be ideal.

Alternatively, would anyone with these programs and the rom be willing to rip the sounds for me, if I give their numbers in the sound test menu?

Cybaster

Goldwave or Audacity should do the job.
