Missing Characters?

Hello. I recently have gotten mugen and I'm loving it. except for one thing. I got my first three characters fine but for some reason its the only three characters I'm able to get. For instance I install a character correctly but for some reason mugen doesnt see it. I have no idea why and thought you could help. thank you -Griffin

When you download the character and add him to the chars folder, make sure the folder which contains the character has the same name as the characters .def file. (the .def is one of the files that comes with the character, and is inside that folder)
After that go to the select.def (in data) and make sure that the name you added there is, again,  the same name as the folder/.def file.

If it still wont work, then be more specific on what happens.

Well Its like it doesnt exist. like for instance on the list there is ash and flash in a row. like this

flash

so I put the name of the character right here in between like this

ASH
Ichigo
flash

I went into winmugen and alas there was a space in between them that was empty. Its like it doesnt even exist

Like he said. Check to make sure the characters by seeing if the DEF file, folder name, and name in the select.def is the same. Also make sure the character folder isn't a folder inside another folder. And also make sure the DEF is leading to correct file directories such as the SFF. AIR. etc
