Okay, ill be as specific as i can. i want to make a certain explod increase in size and fade away slowly. thank you. and yes i tried  :P

Cyanide

Easiest with a helper rather than an explod

Use a varadd with an fvar to scale the explod up. Give your fvar a limitation on how big it can get, and when it reaches that level use the trans sctrl and another variable (or time) to scale the transparency till it fades.

type = angledraw
trigger1 = blah
scale = fvar, fvar

type = trans
trigger1 = blah or blah
trans = addalpha
alpha = -blah*blah, 255

or the other way around generally i try the wrong one first.

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

im having trouble with the helper, instaed of the animation i give it, it's animation is my stance, and it never goes away. do i use a destroyselfe?

ssjsongoku

Then you might be changing the animation in the wrong place.
As for the destroyself, you need it to destroy the helper, yeah.

Cyanide

You're may also be sending it to the wrong place.
You sure you're up to this? Only a week ago you were having trouble making your character jump which was an infinitely simpler piece of code than this.

Well there's a difference between learning physics and making a particle accelerator.

I would like you to take this VERY slowly. Don't try and do everything at once. And apply most of it to your character first.

I expect you to read what displaytoclipboard does and make use of it to confirm your variable is doing what you want it to. Once the variable is acting correctly, you can use angledraw to scale it up. Once that's done, you can learn how trans works. No doing all at once. I want steps. Otherwise you're going to get lost very quickly.
