 Well, I'm not sure I understood any theme "Where Are You Going---Where Have You Been" had, it certainly is an odd short story. But going by how different the stories seem, it shouldn't be too hard. Compare Sister's and Connie's personalities. Compare how both have older sisters who are treated better than them.
