QuoteContrast this with any arcade fighting game, which will have on average six buttons, and in which to do anything you have to combine one to three button presses with a series of directional moves. To actually be any good, you have to memorize lists of coded moves - which aren't displayed in the game and have to be learned from peers or magazines. And on top of this, really you only want to ever do like five different moves - fewer moves than there are buttons!

from there...

LOL

Yeah, the naruto character makers are right. Specials should be triggered by pressing one direction and one button, and supers by pressing one direction and two buttons.

Yes, his name is Joe Highashi and has tried participating in the KOF series. :P

Some ignorance in there (no shit!), as decent fighting games have essentially just two buttons (punch and kick), since doing a special motion triggers the same attack regardless of the punch/kick button used (rare exceptions). Extra buttons (be it 4 or 6 total) just add depth.
It's not like MK and such where you have to memorize which specific button triggers what special (must do Scorpion's spear with LP, for instance), plus all characters draw from the same pool of special motions (quarter-circles, charge, 360, etc) so you can learn like 20 moves simply trying qcf.
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.

Many Arcade fighters have movelists on them and besides, once you get a move done, how hard is it to remember it. Not hard at all.

There have been hard commands to do however, the one that comes to mind is,

DF,UF,F,D,DF,DB A+G (One of Ivy's moves)

QuoteIf you're going to add depth to a game, do it by making full use of a small number of inputs rather than adding more. Games like Dragon Buster and Wonder Momo had good concepts, but failed to execute on the basics, which cost them in the marketplace. Games like Final Fight, Punisher, and Outfoxies succeed because they respond well to basic input and make good use of the different combinations of those inputs.
I guess that's why Street Fighter 2 did so bad.  Too many buttons. :(

But Street Fighter 2 did well, I think. It's the later versions of it, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, that did bad IMO.
The AI was IMPOSSIBLE, even on easy mode, and you get "locked into the buttons" in a way  :-\.

Why are we caring about someone's personal opinion? Even if they make points here and there it doesn't mean that what this guy says should be taken into any form of consideration.

When you look at things how this person does:

- RPGs are a complete waste of time for story.
- FPS are enjoyment for the cognitively retarded.
- Strategy games have crappy gameplay.
- Driving games are meaningless.

That is why I only care about credentials more than he said/she said.

It's true that if you own a PS3 then all arguments made by those who don't have one are invalid.

Except if you own a Wii. :P
I have Wii Sports, and I think it's great for this.

Spiderman 3 for Wii is GREAT for your arms and wrists for exercise too. :D
I have it - and it's a *BLAST* to play it! You can get real tired with your arms though.

But there is a good point on having 7 different buttons, and complex sequences to have 40 or so different attack yet you barely end up using 10.
