Salutations.  First thing you might be thinking is, "there already is a Gardevoir, well, 2 of them.  One by Dshiznets, the other is a hentai edit".  That's true, but I started this character first but gave up over small coding issues that are so ridiculously easy I am ashamed (see:  I wanted to code a jump for her victory pose), so Dshiznets approached me and asked if he could edit/finish her, to which I gladly approved of.

Why am I making this?  Well, I think that, while I appreciate the effort Luis put in her, she's pretty weak and kinda bland, compared to his magnum opus, Lucario.  So, I will start from my unfinished beta (which had God Rugal sounds) and add from there.

Playstyle:  She'll follow the n00bish CvS/MvC hybrids that were popular back in the early 2000s, such as quick light attacks that can chain into the hard attacks.  Since her source game consisted only of 4 buttons (6 if you count the helper and Protect buttons), I am concerned whether I should keep it that way or make her a 6 button character with custom animations.  I will also implement a Counter/Mirror Coat move into her, which will work all these dime-a-dozen characters nowadays.

Aesthetics:  I was planning on using some old school effects, like that line hyper BG from last blade and the portrait fade in technique found in XCB's Dark Chun Li, along with a number of irrelevant effects, which will, unfortunately, upset my idol, Jango.  :C  Also keeping in classic style, should I make her use whatever fightfx your current lifebars use, or should she use something else?

As per MFG standards, I will need to post some pics to validate that I am truly working on her instead of just acting I'll do something but really am too lazy for it.

Pretty basic, standing sprite.

I used too many CLSNs, thought I think it looks okay.

Your eyes are not deceiving you.

Well, anything whatsoever is welcomed, I want to finish her and for her to be a pretty damn good character.

The Railgunner

So long as our favorite hypersexualized Pokemon isn't overpowered/cheap/etc, this will be kickass.

Luigi Master

I use supersexualized, though I guess hypersexualized...nope, it ain't a real word either.  Blaziken is the one that looks like a sexualized male, what with the male body build and all, Gardevoir just appears feminine, but has an equal chance of being male or female.

I'll try my best to make her an enjoyable character without being too weak or too strong.

So is she gonna have the voice in Luis's character or Rugal's?

And I am so making palettes for her when I get a chance.

Luigi Master

Hmm, I was thinking about using Rugal's only for her BAHSAHRAH KAY OH, but I was thinking of using voices from an obscure source, like from an RPG or Soul Caliber or something.

Jesuszilla

On that attack, only one attack CLSN is really needed. Just make it bigger.

The beam is cut off at the top, it would be a nice touch to edit it to reach the top of the screen. It can't be more than 240 pixels starting from her/its feet.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

Jesuszilla

Yeah, just flip it upside-down and put it over the top. Or tile it, whichever suits you.

Duos.act

So, what about AI?

Knowing how well you did your previous AI patches surely you'll consider giving your latest pride and joy some nice AI?

Luigi Master

JZ:  So, I can two CLSN2 and only one CLSN1, or one for both?

Byakko:  The Orochi pillar is from @ndroide's God Rugal, I am thinking on changing it into Orochi's Orochi pillar.

MC:  Of course she will have AI, don't be silly.

Haseo80

whats the moves youre planning on giving to her?

Luigi Master

Some of her original moves, Guile's MvC2 somersault, and God Rugal's Gigantic Pressure as a Basara KO.

Progress as of January 4th, 2009:

Used Dshiznet's SFF and AIR and fixed some alignments.
Coded her victory pose.

I need help with how to make her sprite stretch, as in going from tall and narrow to short and wide, and how to do a fade to white and fade out from white PalFXS codes.

Dr. Mask The 3rd

And why are you giving her a Basara KO? I'm not complaining, I just want to know.

Make her an explod and use ModifyExplod.

Haseo:  I'm serious.

Cadia:  Because Basara KO has made Fatal KO obsolete, sadly.  :C

JZ:  Okay, thanks.  And what parameters control the stretching?  Sorry for all the questions, I just never seen any other character utilize what I'm trying to do, so I could use it's code as a reference.

AngleDraw can be used on the character itself (without making it an explod), it has a scale parameter. But Explod also has the same scale parameter, otherwise.
Just make the AngleDraw (or ModifyExplod if you're using an explod) activate constantly during the desired period, and make the scaling values depend on time. Like, 1.00-time/100.00 to have her shrink, reaching a scaling of 0 after 100 ticks starting from the time she enters the state. Just mess with the "time" part of the expression to make it start later and the surrounding values to decide how it scales.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

I've been digging around for characters that use this, so far Quetzacoatl_88's Juan does so.  So I took the desirable portion of the code, but I am confused.

[State 3876, 3]
type = angledraw
trigger1 = time < 45 && time > 19
scale = ifelse(time>=93,0,0+((time-1)*.05))*1, ifelse(time>=93,0,0+((time-1)*.05))*1

What do each of the numbers in the scale parameter mean?

Byakko

ifelse(time>=93,0,0+((time-1)*.05))*1

=> if time >= 93 ticks, then scale at 0. Otherwise (if time < 93), use (time-1)*0.5 - that is, (time-1)/2.

So from tick 19 to 45, the scaling goes from 9 to 22 times the normal size of the image.
The "0+" before the part with time is... pretty much useless. So is the *1 at the end. Either the author wanted to round it or get an integer or whatever, but it shouldn't be necessary. The first 0 is only to have it scaled to 0 if time >= 93, but it's also useless since the AgnleDraw doesn't even trigger at time >= 93.
The time part is simply to have the scaling change with time since the AgnleDraw activates constantly through a given period of time - here, it will grow bigger between ticks 19 and 45 of being in that state.
I have two chars that use this.
[State 2011, Scale]
type = AngleDraw
trigger1 = Var(2) = 5
scale = 1.5,1.3It's pretty straightforward. X scale, y scale, done. You can include time to have it grow bigger or smaller with time like Juan did.
