Hmm.. How could I make an explod that will always have a left facing thats on the player?

I'm making a symbol pop up whenever the player uses a taunt. If it's player 2, or im on the right side, itll have the wrong facing DX.

Do you use postype = p1 (if you dont use postype then p1 is default)

If yes this should work:
facing = -facing

Example:
[State X, Explod]
type = Explod
trigger1 = ;something
; ...
postype = p1
facing = -Facing
; ...

just make sure that the postype=1

and then use

facing=-facing

what mikedabike said. :P

Dr.Chapatín

This explodes should appear on the side of the enemy?
make a state-2 to test that side of the screen that your char starts and save this value in a variable. When in state of explod use a trigger with variable to know which side of the explod should appear

From what I know, "ownpal = 1" helps this...

Own pal has to do with the pallet, not facing. :P

-1 is a left facing value and +1 is right facing value, but if you use "facing=-1" in this situation, if i recall correctly it's just going to face the opposite direction of p1. so using "facing=-facing" gets right down to the point and tells it to always face left.

StickofDoom

problem fixed.

Thanks all that helped!

I'm going to sit here and tell you that ownpal=1 did not fix any of your facing issues. I'm going to declare this post Absolute and there is no way you will be right. :crowngrin:

Luigi Master

That's strange...oh well, I'm deleting my posts.

now i'm talking to myself, you should have just left it, making mistakes doesn't make you less of person or anything i certainly wasn't trying to make you look bad or anything.  ;P

Cyanide

ownpal = 1 causes the explod not to be affected by pallete changes through palFX on the player. Thats all.

Well, I am not saying that I'm right, but somehow, ownpal helped the explod reflection thing...I don't know how though...

Cyanide

Well, no, you're blatantly wrong.

Here, this is out of the docs. It's ALL ownpal = 1 does. It has nothing AT all to do with facing or teamside or postype.

Quoteownpal = bvalue (boolean)
    Set ownpal = 1 to give the explod its own copy of its palette.
    This is desirable if you want to keep temporary changes to the
    player's palette, such as recovering from a fall or using the
    PalFX controller, from affecting the color of the explod. Defaults
    to 0 if omitted.

See, nothing about facing.
