I have a feeling, that the first person you beat a fighting game with, and the first fighting game you beat, are your favorite game for life. In my case it was Chun li in Street Fighter 2. Bison (Dictator) just couldn't handle my wall jumping with his cheap ass shit.

Even in Mugen, Capcom and the street fighters are my favorite Characters and gaming system.

How about you, who and what holds that special place in your heart? Who and what game made you a Mugen fanatic?

Bonobi

First game was also Street Fighter II, and Ryu was the first character I finished the game with. Actually, was the first character I'd picked ever as well. I remember playing at 7 Eleven in the early 90's. I didn't beat the game there, but did when it was released a bit later on the Super Nintendo.

I'm with you on the Mugen thing, too. Capcom characters' are my number one choice (for a while it was KOF, but back and forth) and made me interested in it immediately. I think the six button layout is the best for fighting games in general.

S.D.

Blanka, SF2.
Funny thing is, I've never liked Blanka.

Ryu was the first character that grew into me (am I special or what?) but I don't remember if it was the first one I finished a game with.

I know it was SF2 The World Warrior on SNES, but I forget exactly who. I wanna say E. Honda or Ken.

Messatsu

Can't really remember, I want to say Genesis SSF2.  Not sure which guy (probably Ken).  First game I beat it with everyone was MKII and I absolutely hate MK now.

Cyber Gouki was pretty tough.

Many people risk their lives everyday by having Mugen.
