After a long hiatus from mugen, (I got pretty demotivated for a while), I decided to start "2009" right with a brand new project. (I have some other projects I am still working on (i.e Symbiote Ken), but this is the only one that got me really excited to get back in the game. (Mugen can get pretty nasty sometimes) I got pretty disgusted on waiting on a decent Dante for Mugen, (seen plenty of W.I.P.S too) so I decided to do my own. I am happy to say I am happy with my final product and it's actually going pretty quick! I found the perfect base, (a character I had in mind now for a while now) I decided to go a different route. Most people's "Dante" W.I.P.S are just swordplay alone. I wanted to make my Dante pretty much in GunSlinger style only. Which is in my opinion more true to the game. So instead of trying to sprite that God Awful sword, I decided to add his shotgun to his back, which he can also use. I just decided to include only one single sprite to show you my progress and use this thread for ideas only. I am aware of the minor touch ups to the costume. (medallions, buckles etc.) He is also going to have a Vergil Helper. (I am still toying with the idea of being able to switch between the two at anytime. Vergil will be more SwordPlay Style than anything.)

That's exactly what it is!

Spriting is going super fast too! It would be cool if I could incorporate some of the lesser used styles in his gameplay too. I have some ideas. With Syn's Strider you can switch between different gameplay styles. I would like to use that. And I also want to use QuickSilver. I have a MegaManX character that can freeze opponents in like a time freeze for a while and just attack. It looks just like QuickSilver too!

Ah, Quicksilver, my favorite gameplay style besides RoyalGuard. I like where this project is going. I hope he can use the shotgun and Mary Ann (i think thats what its called).

Yes, he can use the shotgun. I used the shotgun from Evil Dead Ash. I don't know about Kalina Ann (because it belongs to Lady), but I do have the plans for the Nevan guitar.

I can pass on Nevan. I just hope you include Beowolf and Rebellion. The rest is extra but would be nice.

I might use Beowolf, I was thinking I could use the God Akuma aura effects for the gaultlets.

Ok, the floor is open for suggestions and ideas. As you can see the spriting his definitely moving fast. I am aware of the minor adds I need to make to the costumes. I am just more concentrating on cranking out all the sprites. I can touch them up later. I have ideas for supers though. Level 2 will be his Devil Form (which you'll be able to stay in for a limited time) and Level 3 will be Vergil/Dante's "Jackpot" which you can see I am already starting to sprite. I am pretty hyped now on how this project his turning out! It will take precedence on my other projects at the moment. Especially since we don't have a decent Dante for Mugen yet. (Still toying with the idea of switching out Vergil and Dante anytime. That would be alot more spriting though, but I do like the idea of a low-res Vergil for mugen..)

Wrong Iori. I will touch up the tones later. The sprites will have to be individually looked at later anyways. As for your question, it was just my personal preference. I don't think Rock Howard's a good base at all. I was also experimenting with "K" as well at one time. I think I made a good choice.

Yeah, i agree, Iori does have a more aggresive/dante-like feel.
