Cobra Caddie

I need some help making new palettes for Scrooge. I color seperated a few parts of him, and made him seperate from Launchpad and the item power ups.

I made a second palette for him already; his original palette. Here it is as kind of an example.

Here is an old video of the character in action, before I did the color seperation(and a few other things I hadn't put in yet, but are now in).

It would probably be pretty easy to just run through the rainbow of colors for his jacket, but I understand if you want something more creative. There's always that though.

That was my backup, if no one was interested. I was hoping to see some creativity though, mixing up his feather, jacket, and hat stripe colors, and Launchpad having his own colors as well. It'll probably be plain old jacket switching if it's left to me. :P

Hey, you're making Scrooge... why don't you think in Donald??

(and with a GizmoDuck cameo inside :P)

gizmo duck ........ how about Darkwing Duck  8)

If he feels empty when I finish up him up, maybe I'll add in some character based striker attacks. If not, I have no problem with intro/winpose cameos.

Darkwing would probably make a good seperate character. ;) It's been a long time since I played his game, though.

I'm making a stage as a compliment to the character. Anyone have any suggestions that would make the floor look better?

Put some bigger ( still pixelated) rocks on the foreground , and scattered around on another layer, bigger as they approach the viewer, it will make the ground seem like less of a copy paste.

You can probably find a "moon" like texture on Hulk Meteor on marvel super heroes, if you want to add some craters to the floor.

Iced: I actually had a foreground layer that I took out because I thought it looked better without it:

But, you mean like those white rocks in the background or something like that close to the camera? Just randomly scattered, though? It could work, I may give a try later today. I don't know about adding craters to the floor, since the ground has parallax. Maybe I could add some of those background craters to the foreground, though.

Yes, rocks like that in foreground, and you were right in removing that foreground on the new gif, it doesnt look that good.
Now, a rock on that layer instead ( big and pixelly ) would probably look good.

BigBoss

A new floor would be great but on the other hand not many would flow with the stage, anyways if this stage compliments maybe add sprites from many other games revolving around him and the cartoons etc and make it long like a ziltama stage, will require a lot of effort and layers as far as coding or feedback on that, we will have to wait for the release  :P.

One day someone will rip the Inuyasha stages... Not today nor tomorrow, probably not even in this decade. But you know, someday... :')

BigBoss: I would be up for changing the ground layer, as long as it was to something that stays true to the spirit of the game. Maybe I can find something that works somewhere...

Cobra Caddie

I didn't get around to messing around with a foreground yet, but I did try to make the floor seem less "copy and paste", and added somewhat of a perspective.

Good?

The character is really close to being finished. I made a preview video to show his general gameplay.

Also, I recorded the ending I made for him. It's nothing really "new", but I made it seperate in case there was anyone out there who wanted to wait for the character before seeing it.

I'm still open for palettes if anyone wants to lend me a hand. :)

You could code a throw on him or two, like... making him grab the opponent, jump to his headpos and knock them with his cane, or make him ( during a throw) hop up and down repeatedly on top of the opponent head till they collapse.
