Projectile Explod

I'm using an arrow (single image) as the projectile, and in the projectile statedef there is an Explod being used to cover the arrow (it's the arrow's fx)

Anyways, I'm stuck on how to remove it.
Usually removetime would be the case but...
This is what I did (and could think of), and

Say if removetime was too short, the effect would disappear before the projectile goes off screen
So if I wanted the effect to stay, I need to make removetime longer.

Say if removetime was longer, the effect would not disappear after hitting p2
So if I wanted it to disappear after hitting p2, I have to lower removetime

So I'm stuck in between

Give an id to your explod, and then use a type = RemoveExplodwith the proper triggers (like MoveContact).
That's, like... Basic.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

Please dude, read the docs. I know i spent some time talking you through something but i did try to get you reading about the sctrls you use. I'm positive removeexplod is mentioned inside the explod sctrl, and if it's NOT searching for explod in that document would have got you the result you wanted.

Oh geez,

forgive me or something. I forgot to mention that I tried using RemoveExplod already.
I ID'd the explod as 7801, also in RemoveExplod SCTRL
trigger1 = MoveHit on RemoveExplod

[State 1000,Super]
type = Explod
trigger1 = !Time
anim = 7801
ID = 7801
name = "air_arrow2_effect"
pos = 0,0
postype = P1
keyctrl = 0
ownpal = 1
ontop = 1
bindtime = -1
removetime = 99999
removeongethit = 1
ignorehitpause = 0
facing = 1
scale = .45,.45

[State 1000,RemoveExplod]
type = RemoveExplod
trigger1 = MoveHit
ID = 7801
ignorehitpause = 1

Ignore the name and removetime on RemoveExplod, I was messing around with settings, and it doesnt make a difference if I lower removetime

Just make the removetime equal negative one.

If it's a helper with a projectile-sctrl, you use root,projhit(id). :S

If I change removetime to -1, it crashes

It's not a proj sctrl I believe, its a projectile statedef

What? Are you sure you know what you're doing? At this point it seems like you don't.

The reason your Mugen is crashing is not due to "removetime = -1." This is even mentioned in the documentation on explod-sctrls.

There is no such thing as a projectile statedef. If it's a helper projectile that summons a projectile using a proj-scrl, then the trigger is either projcontact(id) or root,projcontat(id); not quite sure on this last pat as haven't used a projectile-sctrl in forever, but one of those triggers work.

If it's just a helper that hits, then the trigger is movecontact.

Just post your code at this point.

I believe i've told you off about using helper as a basis for explod as well. Explods do not take name. Explods do not take keyctrl.

If it's crashing when you change removetime to -1, you have some other problems. -1 is a valid value for removetime.

Well, I got it now.

MoveContact or projcontact(id) does not work though

I tried root,projcontact(id) =1 as well but nothing happened

I randomly used trigger1 = root,ProjContactTime(1005) = 1 and it worked out.
