I hope you update the voices of the Evil Duo.  We all know Evil Ken's voice sounds stupid albeit unfortunately iconic ("...ow" for a KO voice, what joy), and Evil Ryu's voice wasn't perfectly ripped (I know one voice clip that got cut off).

Well this thing about the 'New Mugen' Sound pretty serious to me  o_O, I hope you update then in a CvS sprite set, that would be awesome  :sugoi:

This thread is slowly becoming a mini-elecbyte forum, "pleeeeeeease, add this, pleeeeease, do that" without even knowing what is going on, I just hope Vyx wont came here and advertise his HD Dragon Claw in real pixel size.
Most suggestions are spot-on, actually, I don't see people being unreasonable (except CvS spriteset there >_<).

Anyway, to make it short, fix what's broken, like the cloning that tend to happen with Dragon Claw, dont remember exactly wich helper it was.

I can be fine with EK's voice, provided you change his KO voice.  Instead of "...ow" (it's just so insanely stupid, I rage just thinking about it), how about using and warping Hugo's KO voice (his voice was originally Hugo's, after all)?

Well while surfing on the youtube i found some crappy "God Ryu" that has all the edits of Reu's EvilRyu converted to CvS in a pretty neat way IMO, and a "God Ken" that has plenty of the edits of EvilKen... maybe they are both made by the same guy, so its not that unreasonable, and is only just a suggestion  ;P

Wouldn't Violent Ken's voice work well?

But he never could, and now , without him supervising the animation, it would be like, a totally different char.
Why not just upgrade his old alpha sprites? Ryu could even use more intros in the same vein.

Why not just remaking the whole Evil Duo instead? Take the ideas of the design you like, and... make a new one. It's not like you couldn't, or that there aren't sprites floating around. Heck, PotS' Ryu already has an 'Evil' mode.

Nah, Violent Ken and Reu's vision have different grooves going on.

Yeah.  Shouldn't be too hard to change them back to old Mugen though.


I've been doing some fixes today and ran into a visual one.  I think the duo doesn't really flash the two different stances as much as they could, since you won't hold on to a full bar for long in an actual match, so I made them just use the old stances when they're more active (attacking, dashing, getting hurt) and go into the new ones when more relaxed.  How does that sound?

How about holding onto the new stances once they have one bar charged instead?

one more thing, is it possible to create an effect when they are both "close" to one another where energy arcs between them?

Evil Ken's multi Shoryuken (where he spins and you mash buttons to add hits) is really overpowered, even more than all his other attacks. Consider toning it down a whole lot.

Cut down priority on some moves. I believe Evil Ryu's Hadouken shouldn't go through another hadouken so easily.

About Dragon Claw, some of his sprites have bad transparency, especially the stance, which has transparent pixels in the torso. You might want to fix that.

The above pretty much sums up what could be done to improve the characters without too much tampering of the gameplay systems, though, there's one thing that reu wanted to add, namely, more interaction between the two characters. team intros, winposes, moves and super moves.

Depends on the comparison point, might end up close to Shin Gouki.

Am considering making the fireballs stop for a while every time they eat another one instead of just taking one hit, though, will see about that.

Yeah.  Should be easy to handle, even if boring. >_<


Does anyone else think the random chance for MSSM moves can both get in the way sometimes and make room for hail maries that shouldn't exist in fighting games (i.e. lucky shots)?

I think that was the point of them.
To give you a roullete lucky shot that wouldnt happen usually, its unbalanced but its one of the dangers of facing the evil duo, theres one in eight chances the move they do next turns out even more powerful than normal, and the odds grow bigger as they cancel moves.

I also have two requests to make:
- Mugen Institute doesn't seem to be working here and I think I only have Evil Ken's intro on an old PC, would be nice to have it again.  Maybe someone else would like to update it though?  I've only done one storyboard in my life to see how stuff worked.
