Ugh, he absorbed more of Baek's moves... RIP
Not a fan of Hwoarang tbh.

They incorporated Sebastian's move from TT2 into her new screw mechanic. Nice touch.

It's good to see Leroy back.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I find Leroy to be absolutely bland and quite silly.
Wasn't surprised when he was revealed for 8 since he's really popular, but I'm in no way excited as some people are.

Why's the hitsound so underwhelming compared to the flashy effects? It's like KOF 2003 all over again.

That being said, Jun looks amazing.

Am I the only one who thinks the consistently changing camera angles are really nauseating?
Every extender has a camera shift and it's really distracting. Hopefully it's only a trailer thing...

OW2 flashbacks incoming...

So will Tekken 7 be on life support mode then? At least give us new characters in the mean time to ease off the pain of waiting... Add my BBW: Bruce, Baek and Wang.

Am I the only person that thought "Is this Tekken, or DOA?" when watching that trailer? I mean, it's an interesting style addition to Tekken... it just kinda threw me a little.

Not gonna lie... It looked "REALLY" cheesy for me...
The animations were stiff, the effects fell flat, just overall a hot mess. They're trying to do too many things at the same time it feels like.
I think the VA recorded new voice overs for Nina which hasn't changed since Tek 5's, so THAT's good. But except for that, I'm actually quite less hyped than before...

Well fine. You're not happy with their decision, I get that. But you keep insinuating yourself that this is some conspiracy going on to keep Karl from having access to MFFA and it clearly is not.
They.
Do not.
Want.
Me.
There.
Yeah. They just don't want you on their site.

It's THEIR site. They maintain, monitor, own and pay for the site. Tough luck. Move on.

It's like getting fired on your job for the first time. Yeah it sucks. They don't give a good reason except that they're "letting you go" and you never get to step foot in the premise again, most likely.

I'm not saying this to ridicule you or make you feel bad. I'm just being realistic here. It's not worth getting worked up about something you have no control over.
Either buy a domain, make your own forum and be a better admin there or find another place to hangout. It's not that hard.

it's the reason(or lack thereof) that they banned me that bothers me. There isn't a damn thing I can do about it. It's not like I can go sign back in now.

and I do sympathize with you as smth similar has happened to me before (not to mention a myriad others on this forum), but to reiterate:
You said you're clearly done with the site and MFFA just did what was deemed necessary.

case in point:
You were banned because the staff decided you threatened to leave and make a public spectacle of it multiple times and then just never did it but kept doing it. We all agreed it was enough you said you were done well we obliged you.

We didn't decide to remove you just because.

I wasn't even the one who got banned and I knew straight on. Just take it easy and PM the admins here, or even join their discord and ask for a repeal there. No need to cause drama on another forum that has nothing to do with this. Especially when the reason is so petty.

I mean, why would it matter to you? You said you're clearly done with the site and MFFA just did what was deemed necessary. Quit sulking and just move on. (Happened to many people on this forum by other forum admins too. This isn't news.)
It's like an abusive relationship, you keep going back to the place you swore you were done with. SMH

Please people, be nice!
Been reading the entire thread and I second this. We don't need people to come and swarm creators like a bunch of hyenas. Leave feedback as it is: they can take it or leave it.

This is why so many newcomers are too afraid to post any of their works anymore. Criticism is fine, but don't leave a bitter taste in everyone's mouth after giving one.

Ah I see. Thnx

Then how about registering hit counters when hitting a helper without hitting the parent first? Cuz without touching the parent, no matter how many times I hit the helper, the counter never goes up.

Making helper attacks count as hits

Is there a way to make helper's attacks count as normal hits, indicated with a combo counter?

To elaborate, I've got a helper state that hits first, followed by the parent attacking. The problem is, if the helper hits the opponent and the parent does a follow up attack, the moves don't systematically connect with the prior being ignored in the combo counter resulting in the counter starting with 1 and not 2 (helper X + parent ✓). This works the other way around, however. It seems like parents starting the combo have higher priority than helpers starting one.

I want the moves to connect and be counted as normal hits without the parent having to start the combo first.

In the end, I believe you will only understand when you create something, spend months or even years perfecting it, and then have another person claim (or lead to believe) they made it.
Just to clear things up, has the individual claim he/she was the sole creator of the character? I'm not too familiar with the person being addressed.

And I doubt anybody actually "claims" a plagiarized work as their own except for those who are ballsy enough to make such a claim. The reason why I'm empathetic about this issue but am not jumping on to the bandwagon like everyone else is because "stealing" implies there is malicious intent, which is something I'm not willing to assume just because someone took some codes from someone else.
Sometimes, people need to use other people's works as crutches to make something new, especially if your coding is not experienced enough and yet you still want to make your own character.

I need further context to see if the alleged "code thief" actually had malicious intent to smear the name of the original creator or only did it as an amateur mistake. Hollering "steal" at any sign of C+V seems... let me reiterate: a little overdramatic.

You are not just stealing code, you are also stealing the coder's personal time in developing and testing that code. Just because the product is distributed free, doesn't mean there's no work or even some sacrifices behind.

But how are you supposed to standardize what's "stealing" and what's not? I get your point in sacrifices being made into creating content that is aimed to be enjoyed by everyone, but who in the right mind creates an entire new character from scratch (i.e. blank pages for everything. no sprites, sounds etc)?

So if we are to assume every creator borrows some assets from others from time to time, can we consider those "stealing" too without recognition? If not, then to what specific amount/percentage can we state is the line of being considered theft?

If we are to credit every single asset that was used in a single Mugen character, every creations would need something like this in a dedicated "credits" page:
  • Mugen by Elecbyte, Fighter Factory Studio by VirtuaTek
  • Sprites by Capcom, Ripped by XGargoyle, Edited by Kolossoni
  • Codes by Tiger-Boy, Edited by gohkenytp
  • Animations by Bad Mr. Basara, Edited by PoTS
  • Sounds by Capcom, Ripped by Trololo, Edited by Greatfunk
  • etc
and I doubt any creator does this.

Again, claiming someone's hard work as your own is absolutely disrespectful, but unless there's a patent behind it or other legal measures protecting the rights/ownership, I can't wrap my head around it being "theft". It's not an intellectual property, that's what I'm saying.
