Still think that people are being to harsh on the art and graphic styles. I know it is not GREAT, but it's decent. That's what I meant in my previous post.
The chibi thing for example didn't bother me, it's just different and I think once the game releases people will get used to it.
Again, I'm not "wow this is looking awesome!", I'm just "oh ok, this is fine". And besides we are getting 2 Sinnoh games, so, not complaining.

looks 10 times better in sprites than 3D models, I bought a nintendo switch to play the pokemon next gen but Im getting this :/ its so sad

I'm sorry but I have to disagree. While I love the 2D sprites and all, I really liked (at least in the trailer) the 3D environment. I can't tell which one I like the most. I mean, we grew up with the 2D era, so there is a lot of nostalgia involved, but I always try to see the new generation games with "today's children" eyes, sometimes we need to appreciate what technology is cappable of now too.

But yeah, basically that.

In your attack state (it says jumping strong punch, so let's use this), you will add a targetstate, right after the hitdef. The value is the custom state, in my post I used 611. Then, you will create statedef 611, which will be used by P2. As soon as the hit connects, P2 will be sent to YOUR state 611 instead of a normal hit state.

You can take a look at one of KFM's custom state:

Notice how it useses movetype = H, indicating the player is being hit, and type = A and not L. In the very end, it uses selfstate to send P2 to it's own gethit states.
Hope it gets a bit easier to understand.

The only thing I can imagine is using explods as portraits, but then you'd have to edit all the characters (or the common1.cns) and is not worth it IMO.
Another solution would be using IKEMEN, I'm almost sure that portraits share palette there.

Something like that. What it does is you can control how P2 reacts uppon being hit. But you have to create the whole state for it. Look for grabs/throws, they are good examples of custom states.

First, let me fix that for you:


Second, yes, there is a way.

This font seems like one of those sprite fonts from older versions of mugen. If you know how sprites works on mugen, you know that they have palettes, and with fonts is not different. What you'll do is change the palette from orange to blue, like you would do with a character for example.

If it's a sff file:
- Open the font sff in Fighter Factory;
- See if there is already a blue palette for this sff, if not, you can create one or edit the orange one (using the palette editor);

If it's a def file:
- You just need to change the RGB value in the system.def file:
menu.item.active.font = 4,0,0, 255,255,255

Download a fresh copy of MUGEN 1.1, put the stage on it, open mugen.cfg (in the data folder) with notepad, search for "RenderMode", see if it's set to OpenGL, if not, set it. If you get a black screen, use SafeMode = 1 in mugen.cfg. Now test the stage. If you still don't get it to work, then the stage might be corrupted.

Try the stage in a clean 1.1, without anything else, and with OpenGL enabled, see if it works.

Easiest way to do that is:

You'll open your character in Fighter Factory, go to the Animation editor, search for the animation of the Hyper Background (the one you want to remove), you'll notice that animations use sprites "group" numbers and "index" numbers, change either the group or the index to -1, can be any, both, whatever. Save and test it.

Also make sure to have a backup in case you mess it up.

Looks like you're trying to load a 1.1 stage in a 1.0 build of MUGEN. What version of MUGEN are you using?

The problem is you're trying to change the character to animation 420, but it doesn't have animation 420. You need to create it or just change to a different animation.

Looks good! I just think the overlay is a little too strong, but maybe it's just me nitpicking.
Also (not related to the stage), the sound in the video is so low that at first I thought it had no sound at all. Was that intentional?
