We're all making good faith efforts to engage with your points, and every single one of your points has been dissected by several different people (because you're basically arguing against the entire forum, LOL)

But the same can not be said of the reverse. This has not been a very productive or fruitful conversation for anyone involved, but if there is one person who can be said to be contributing the most to it not being a good use of time, it would have to be you.

Also, please don't quote the rules at a moderator as some kind of inane "gotcha". The staff know when people are breaking the rules. No one has in their replies to you. Don't be the guy who tries to rules lawyer his way out of something. Relatedly, you haven't broken any rules either; being obstinate and unable to forgo the last word is certainly not against the rules.  :tipshat:

I speak on ppl being rude period... I never came at yall rude. just asked questions and made points you deem invalid...
Oh come on man, you have been rude as fuck. Don't act like it's not rude at all to totally ignore everything people are saying to you, blow off all their points, and gloat about how awesome it is for Acemillion to steal other people's work and sell it is. That's rude as fuck! You're getting the exact kind of reaction you yourself are putting out to the world.

Also, I feel like everyone's getting sidetracked in all this about what Elecbyte's license says, and whether its OK to monetize MUGEN, etc. That stuff is certainly important, but there's a really key issue that isn't really being talked enough about, and that is the fact that Acemillion is stealing the hard work and effort of other people and selling it for profit. That isn't a complicated, grey area like the Elecbyte licensing stuff. That isn't some ingenious scheme that has never been attempted before and should be celebrated for its cleverness.

It's just straight up theft. And it's completely and utterly unacceptable.

I see but if you read the cvs manual by Marancv mugen it espressely says the ratio from kof to cvs sprites is of 110%  for the width and 100% for the heght, hence the height i basically the in cvs styla and width is about of 10 perceent wider than kof style. So far i never used this method because i did this manually by growing some part of the char body like arms, feet and face. Now iused this method by scaling the sprites but I'm still not sure if this one is the right method.
This isn't really an exact science, though. The ratios Marancv listed in that tutorial might work for most characters, but they also might not work for everything; this new Takuma stance really does look a bit too wide to me, in a way that doesn't look very CvS-like. :-\

One thing I DO have is a color leftover (he's 14-colors, not 15. I used one on the belt for the heck of it, and I guess I could use an extra one in the hair, but his skin-tone hair just looks so much more CVS-ish that I kind of don't want to change it :P)
Maybe could use that leftover color for a darker skin/hair tone? I guess really just for the hair, actually; I've seen quite a few CvS2 characters with skin-tone hair have one extra, darker color used for the hair (and maybe a few other places on clothes or something), but not used for the skin.

I'm shocked and disgusted that you would have the audacity to post this, after getting banned for this exact kind of behavior multiple times. How fucking dare you take credit for the hard work of others because you constantly whine at people to make characters for you? Who the fuck do you think you are?

People who make MUGEN stuff do not exist to cater to your own personal taste. If they happen to decide to make something that you also would like to see, that does not make you personally responsible for their choices, no matter how much of an annoying pest you've acted towards them.

It's clear that you have learned absolutely nothing from your previous bans. But fear not! You will receive another opportunity to learn this lesson via a brand new ban. See you in 3 months.

Character of the Month: January 2020 Nominations

 Board: Contributions of the Month

In this thread you will be nominating characters from the month of January 2020 that you believe are worthy to be recognized as Character of the Month. These nominations last until February 15th.

Read these rules and guidelines.

Every couple of days a list will be created and updated to feature the nominations progress. The list will include: Who's a candidate and how many motions other characters have. If twenty candidates are reached before the 15 days are up, then voting will start early.

- Only nominate up to 4 characters
- Read the thread
- The numbers next to each nomination represent each character's current nominations
- Only 3 nominations are necessary for each character

PLEASE BE AWARE that due to the incessant, absurd number of users who find themselves unable to read and follow the rules of these threads, we have instituted a new feature:

The Speedpreacher Penalty Box

Users who refuse to follow the very simple guidelines that we have set forward will find themselves in the Penalty Box, and will have their nominations for this month null and void. They will have to wait until next month to nominate anything! So take care, and don't get put in the Penalty Box!!!

Let us all try, for this new year, to not get sent into the Speedpreacher Penalty Box.

Black Canary is one of the most prominent secondary D.C. hero characters that I know of.  She exists, she's there helping, but never really ever anything monumental that I've read or seen.  At least through her super powers/combat skills.  But I also haven't actively sought out her feats before.  At most she should be comparable a fighter to Sonya's combat training, whom Sindel obliterated
I don't really know much about MK characters but even so, this seems like a wildly unfair comparison. Black Canary doesn't just have "combat training", like some basic soldier: she's one of the top martial artists in the DC universe, able to go toe-to-toe with heavyweights like Lady Shiva, Cassandra Cain, and Batman (who she has bested in combat!). She's been trained by the absolute best, and is more than their equal. There's a reason why she's gone through long periods without any powers at all, and even still been a force to be reckoned with.

I'm sure all that magic bullshit will lead to Black Canary losing, but if this was just a hand to hand fight, I think one would be very hard pressed to argue against her coming out on top.

02. Well, is it possible to make her X-ISM attire default and hold start for Shadow Lady like you did?
Yes, but again, it would have to be the same spriteset. All that can be (easily) changed is the palette(s).

03. Did you know she has a drill move? I have no idea. I might CS this
I am aware of the drill move. She also fires missiles from her butt. It's not a very creative or well implemented moveset TBQH.

02. I'm going to need some help with her. I do not want to make two separate versions of her, therefore, is it possible to make to her A-ISM attire default and hold start for her X-ISM attire?

Short answer: no

Long answer: it's sort of possible, and there are several ways of accomplishing this, but there's gonna be issues no matter what method is used, with none of them being particularly ideal.

01. May you please tell me how you made Chun-Li's attire design glow??
The RemapPal sctrl, along with a sff version 2, so that more than 12 palettes can be accessed (because they're all stored in the sprite file).

As an example, here's a very simplified version of Demitri's palette switching, which switches between two palettes in the palette group index 1:
Code:
[State -2, RemapPal: 2 palettes alternating, 1 tick interval]
type = RemapPal
trigger1 = GameTime % 2 = 0
source = 1,1
dest = 1, ifElse(GameTime % 4 = 2, 1, 0)
ignoreHitPause = 1

I think it's pretty natural for most people who aren't super invested in Fire Emblem to feel disappointed when the final character in this season of DLC to be yet another sword-wielding Fire Emblem protagonist, especially when there's seven of them in the game already. Of all the various Nintendo franchises, only Mario has more characters, and pretty much all of those characters look and play radically different. It just seems weird to me that Fire Emblem is coming in second, above Zelda or Kirby or what have you.  And heck, from what I've seen, even Fire Emblem fans would rather have seen a non-main character so that at the very least a different weapon style could be represented (beyond how Byleth specials do this to a limited extent).

It's really only an issue when people take those feelings of disappointment and blow them up, acting like whiny babies who feel as if Nintendo should cater to them, personally. Speaking of...

Yeah, no, we don't. They have set up the standard and they raised the hype, don't give me this bullshit of "Its not their fault", because it fucking is.
LMAO this is so unbelievably entitled

There's a purported leaked script of the Colin Trevorrow episode 9 going around. It's pretty vague and not quite clear on what actually happens in the ending, but overall sounds way more thought out than what actually got filmed.

... but as far as I can tell, the script isn't actually available to read, all the info is coming from a YouTuber breaking down what's in the script. Which uh, certainly raises some credibility questions.

People don't like much ROTJ (EWOKS, I know), but like it.
people who get mad at Ewoks and/or hate Return of the Jedi because the Ewoks should've been Wookies or whatever are some of the lamest Star Wars fans. Ewoks rule.

I keep on reading that people who are not invested in star wars like the last jedi.
Plenty of people that are invested in Star Wars like The Last Jedi too.

As much as I fucking hated TRoS, I feel like it basically accomplished its goals. Sure, those goals were horribly cynical and desperately seeking to be as obnoxiously fan service-y as possible, but it was able to do all that while also more or less presenting a coherent story in which characters have arcs and shit (the story was shit and the arcs were either near nonexistant or just fucking stupid, but they still exist!).

The same can't really be said of the prequels, even though the ideas it was trying to explore were way more interesting than what TRoS decided the sequel trilogy was actually about. The execution of the prequels is just so bad, on so many levels, from the awful writing, to the poor acting, the list goes on. But then again, I feel like both TFA and TLJ were able to have interesting ideas and execute them well, which in a way makes it worse that TRoS took such a huge dump on them both. At least with the prequels, they were all shit, so by the time Revenge of the Sith rolled around it wasn't as bad. There was no high expectations or anything... :(

But that's entirely Disney's fault, since it has come out (on Reddit) that JJ's cut did try to make sense of most of it, not only Kylo but even Rose kinda worked out as well as they possibly could, but Disney came at it with a chainsaw (and Rose was left with under a minute of screen time).
I'll just wait for that JJ cut to be leaked (not that Disney will ever let it see the light of day willingly).
I've been reading up on this over the weekend and it seems to be 100% made up. The cut scenes the "leak" purports make little to no sense, and the explanations of why the changes were made make even less sense. Like, one of the big things that was apparently cut was a big group scene of a bunch of Force ghosts helping Rey defeat Palpatine or whatever, and that got axed because... uh... *gestures vaguely* CHINA.

Which just doesn't hold water. Not only had every plot detail in the movie had been leaked months beforehand, but additionally, all the various dropped plot points and scenes were cut also leaked in the same post—specifically, there was a leaker on Reddit 2 months ago who posted a plot summary of the movie as it was being finalized, with numerous changes and crossed out sections (of note, there was a really big emphasis on Rey and Kylo being a "force dyad" and that harnessing the power of the dyad was Palpatine's ultimate goal, which was all completely dropped; other dropped plots included that ex-stormtrooper lady they meet near the Death Star II ruins was gonna be Lando's daughter, but they completely cut out every single scene leading up to that revelation, leaving only the final scene where Lando says he'll help her find her family). And in that fairly exhaustive leak, there was no word about a secret force ghost scene. And certainly, getting a bunch of big name actors like Samuel L. Jackson et. al. to shoot a force ghost scene would've been leaked by now by more reputable sources, but it hasn't.

And of course, to blame the cut on China is just insane. Setting aside the fact that "China doesn't allow movies with ghosts!" is a flawed and not really accurate understanding of how things work with China's censorship policies; in the actual fucking movie that got released, there are multiple force ghosts! For sustained scenes! There's a whole goddamn scene with ghost Luke! And that shit remained in the version that Chinese audiences saw! There's no way a scene with a bunch of ghosts got cut in every version released in the world because of China.

As for the non-ghost changes, the dumb Reddit guy comes up with an elaborate conspiracy that Disney intentionally sabotaged the movie and made it less good to spite J.J. Abrams (because his production company got bought by Warner Bros recently), which is just... insane and impossible to believe. This movie is gonna make Disney unfathomable amounts of money, they wouldn't purposefully try and ruin it out of some stupid vendetta, not when there's money to be made. Like shit, of course Disney is a giant evil corporation, but they're not that stupid.

The leak has already been refuted by a lot of industry people; it's just not at all believable. Unfortunately, there's a growing cult of people who believe in it full-throatedly, and it's already giving off the same kind of vibes as the Snyder cut people. So that means things are only gonna get worse. :pwn:

On the topic of modes, could Chun-Li get some sort of mode which has her SFA moves but without the Shadow Lady stuff?
There's not really anything super interesting or distinguishing that can be done to differentiate SFA Chun-Li from normal Chun-Li. Sure, there's SFA palettes but they don't totally work; the Alpha outfit just can't be conveyed very well with her usual outfit. And of course, there'd be no difference in the voice or intros/taunts/winposes/whatever.

The whole reason there's a Shadow Lady mode to begin with was because of these issues: I wanted to do a SFA moveset mode of some kind, but it needed something unique and special. And thus, the inclusion of all the Shadow Lady stuff. It's a solution I really like, because it keeps the cool SFA moveset, but also incorporates all the cool stuff from Shadow Lady (palette shifting, Final Mission) while ditching all the lame stuff (literally every other move she has in MvC, they're so dumb). Which is also the reason why there's never gonna be a pure Shadow Lady mode with her full MvC moveset! Because it sucks!

Lastly will Master Mode get some his SFIII Mode likes like the Guren Senpuukyaku?
I dunno I guess but I feel like adding all the SFIII mode stuff is just gonna completely bloat up the moveset. And it's already absurdly bloated and crazy (such is the nature of Master modes)!
