I have the feeling he would be a tad taller than that. You know, like in that one KOF 2002 credits sprite of his.
Yeah that was deliberate on my part... he's still pretty tall, being too imposing didn't go all that much with the idea of psychic broadsword and all.

Here's old man Nests, which was the final boss of KOF2k1 for 10 hot minutes from appearing in a cutscene mid tourney to getting smothered in a cutscene before the final boss Igniz. I wondered if he was ever thought to be playable, in Nona's illustration he has this large broadsword which seemsto have a very short handle, maybe it was supposed to move around indipendently like Donovan's?

Here 's an edit of Kusanagi's stance, inspired by some official art where he's more manifest with his flames.
Also a quick test for Violent Ken as seen in Nona own illustrations... sadly I noticed midway that the whole stance had hair and cloth secondary movements going the wrong way, but couldn't really be bothered to rework it so I followed the mistake. But maybe it's meant to be mysterious powers rather than physics? whatevs

haven't posted in a bit, Sir Ghostler commissioned me a few animations for his SVC Sagat, it just so happened that I had a partial redesign for the character in a wip state, so I pushed through and finished it and handed to him. it features mostly a new head and some anatomy rework, and some consistency here and there. try it out, Sir Ghostler made a great work, very pleasant character to play! https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/kofish-sagat-released-189757.0.html
Here's a few little things. This Elvis from God Hand still looks too much like Chang but he's been sitting around for years so here it is. the SVC Claw animation was a thing I did to give this attack a little extra visual flair, finally Red Arremer fireball from I think Demon Crest? This must be 10+ years old be careful might have a mind of its own

Here's a "smoothening" or whatever word one might conjure, of Krauser's Bliztball, both high and low. I did a different ending for the low suggesting a different arc, I don't buy it entirely but here it is.
I'm always at odd with Kof Krauser, it has this feeling like they animated an old lanky unbalanced man that is trying really hard...

This is my KOF Ryo set, thought to flow well with the classic AOF / KOF 13 onward stance I made. It's actually not a full set but what I skipped I felt worked well enough and can be found in XI/2k2 sets. Mostly I reworked animations I already did for NGBC Ryo but there's also something new, most already posted here. Feel free to use for your projects, maybe post them here if you'd like, thanks.

thanks for the high praise. Yes I do share the sentiment about Ryo of course, IMO the 96 stance has been a bit of a curse for animation since a lot of the stuff even new often didn't flow very well from it, I think only XI had a little revamp and even then it just outlines the oddness.

I ended up converting a few animations I retouched for NGBC Ryo... I'm editing my edits of official edits, is this meta yet?
But actually the uppercut is new, it's another Robert's heavily edited. I'm also reposting light punches which had wonky palettes.

lore wise, Dong Hwan is the rebel, unconventional, was he a genius I think? he might have learned wall jump even just to spite his father,say just by watching Choi.
Jae Hoon is the traditional conservative, if daddy didn't teach wall jump he didn't learn it, 100%.

So I made both far and close light punches for ryo, going with the stance I made, all based on KOFXIV mostly. I have half of a mind to check the whole set to make it "compatible" with it, at a glance it wouldn't be too much work but yeah we'll see what happens.

I was tinkering back with this stance I made for NGBC Ryo, when I decided to convert it to KOF Ryo, this was more work than I envisioned, and I envisioned a fair amount of it. I tried to animate the hair... I'm not really feeling it, too much secondary movement already anyway, but here it is.

So this run cycle was an idea I had uhh almost a decade ago, damn, I had the legs done, edited from Eiji I think, but then left it there not confident enough to give it life. Picked it up again and well here it is. I'm not sure it "works" as intended, but I am always tinkering it and just want to call it done.

I was revisiting briefly Wild Ambition which is a game I'm quite fond of, and got hit by the itch to try and edit a few sprites of Ryo just the way Mr. Karate is in that game, in the illustrations by Hiroaki that is, the in-game model is quite simplier. The strange anime hair is hard to convey, there's no illustration of the back and in the model is kinda too much so I felt like simplifying it. I also skipped the kanji on the shoulder because when playing from the left it's not facing the camera, and I feel that's a mighty good justification.
