Congrats on the release. I apologize I don't have much time during the week with work and all to test. I did sample both him and Alice just awhile ago. I don't know much about this char as I've never played the game he's from. However, Ill get back with you either later today or tomorrow with feedback for him and Alice. From initial testing, he's actually pretty cool. I honestly didn't know what to expect from him. I do have a few quick things of concern:

-During his EX DP kick special, if you super cancel at specific times during the final flip kick portion, sometimes his y pos will randomly put him in weird positions during the super pause. At times it will shift him and misalign the super FX. Other times it will change his y pos completely from where you cancelled it. Putting him only a few pixels above ground level among other oddities.

-His projectile is not restricted properly. I've been meaning to tell you this about honestly all of you chars that use projectiles. How it should work is the char should be allowed to throw another projectile anytime an active one is no longer active. This doesn't mean it just destroying itself/going off screen. This also means one should be allowed to throw another one while a prior one is in a disperse state. Your projectiles also don't stay for hit registry. This....honestly is no longer a big deal to me(in regards to hit registry), though I feel I should mention it regardless.

As technically it's still a combo, but Mugen will drop the combo counter if a helper destroys itself from that helper, as it no longer exists. This is what that "wait" state is for that I and others send the helpers to after dispersal. This keeps the helper alive until p2 is no longer a target of it. How you choose to handle this is up to you. Once again, I would be remiss to not mention it.

Here it is. As I said in my last post, only Kyosuke and Robert have the 1.0 and Win compatible versions. All the other "DW" versions for char that became 1.0 exclusive were lose unfortunately. :-\ Also, Kame updated Kyosuke and Robert's AI once more. Adding a failsafe to prevent the infinite changestate bug from happening. I'll apply this link to the OP as well.

I'm looking for 2 stages: A day time version of SF3 3S: Akuma's stage and a day time version of Mr. Karate's Guardian Dogs stage from SvC. I'm pretty sure they were both made... Well, at least the Akuma one for sure. The Mr. Karate one may have just been a concept.... At any rate, any help would be appreciated.

You're right...

I honestly have no clue. I can/should make an alternate MediaFire folder with everything. Problem is though: Some of the char versions were actually loss on my old PC. Namely all the "DW" versions of every char that had one except for Kyosuke and Robert. Mostly everything I lost was winmugen stuff as I wasn't able to recover it before it crashed again.

Robert and Kyosuke were done on my current PC, so I still have them. I'll try to remember to get around to it before the day is done. Maybe(hopefully) JZ will resolve all this before I have to. :P No worries though, I'll power thru the laziness and get a MF folder going....soon-ish....

I honestly don't know what's the point in using this pixelator thing. IMO, not only does it look inferior compared to the original sprites (and even to other lowres chars), it might take Infinite longer to make the character since he might not be experienced with the thing. Ultimately though, that's up to him.

I don't think it's needed for this char in particular, but, the program itself can be useful for cutting down the work of converting a hi-res only char, into a CvS sprite style. If this was used on like KoF 13 chars or something of the like. It's just a step towards a larger goal. I don't think it should just be used as is I agree. Especially not for that char.



I had prepped to possibly make Alice myself. Was gonna CS her and everything. Though I could just do it for you instead. The SFF I had didn't have all of her gethits. They hadn't been duplicated and aligned properly. Idk if you have an alternate set, or maybe you already took care of it yourself, just a heads up. I'll wait to see how things go. If you want though, you can send me the SFF, and I'll CS her.

The problem is, I don't know if I will return.

I no longer have the free time I had years ago. And to that must be added the fact that, after many years, I am realizing that spriting, as much as I may like, is proving to be a waste of time.

I can relate. The more you go, the more you feel like time is being wasted. It becomes far more precious and you get to questioning yourself on if you should even be investing time into this. I don't have any profound knowledge to bestow, all I can say is I understand you 100%. At any rate, you and Roach have done some amazing work here.

And overall you have done some great things with the chars you've made. If nothing else you've left a great legacy here and I'd like to thank you for all you've done. Will try out Beast now and get back with you all soon.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Mugen is a fickle mistress and a lot of us have to do work-arounds to make things work. It's the nature of the beast. Over time, we may be able to get it the way you want it to be, but for now, you understand:

working mechanics > aesthetics

^This is always more important. I much rather be able to play the nice char you made bug free. As opposed to just a special animation messing things up. I'm willing to try and lend my noodle to the problem and you can keep inquiring about it as well. Should be able to figure something out. Keep ya head up, brodie. Be proud of what you've accomplished.

I don't think it's the best idea to use exact animations timings/frames from a game like SS, when you're making the char in a CVS format. Whether it be a turn, walk, roll or w/e. Hoahmaru and Nakoruru do not have exact frame timings from their SS incarnations. These things were adapted to give all the chars a more Capcom feel. All and all, I'll change all these things myself, but I want to leave you with something Kamekaze told me when working on Kyosuke:

In source, Kyosuke's SCK special has no invul at all. I've recently changed this, because Kame told me:

"the beauty of mugen is that we can correct mistakes"

At the end of the day, you do what you feel is best. You've done good work and I'm not suggesting otherwise. Just giving my input.

I'll probably have more when I sit down with him, perhaps after work. For now, here's some initial stuff:

-Why does his turn animation last so long?
-Rolling lasts too long as well. Any time you use this, you're pretty much setting yourself up to get hit/thrown. Especially for forward roll.
-Can't super cancel from his projectiles?
-Why does EX projectile behave that way up close? At the very least, it should still knock p2 down on hit. I don't understand the reasoning behind making something like this less effective/straight up behave different for using it closer. And since you can't SC from it(it feels like), it makes it even worse. And I don't understand why.
-His Lv3 is pretty bad. Who will you hit with this? I'm assuming it's unblockable in the air? Though comes out WAY too slow because of the first swipe animation that implies it is a hit:

^If I'm spending the meter, why not? Unless someone just jumps into this, you make a perfect read, or some other unlikely scenario, his Lv3 just exists just to exist. I need to know the reasoning behind making meter moves less effective. It's not easy anyway, because he has to be close.

I don't have the time now, but I'm pretty sure I'll be back with more. Overall though, he feels nice.
