Does anyone know if a good Orochi exists? Anything Kof 97/98/UM/NGBC or similar will do.
IMO the most accurate one was the one by GONZO- (98UM)
Ahuron also made a good Mizuchi (NGBC)

Do you use fighter factory for your CS?
Yes, the old fighter factory 3 from 2013
Because although fighter factory studio's replace tool has more color slots, it had the "save sprite" shortcut removed.

the walking backwards feels... I dunno... incomplete? that sudden turn of direction looks awful
this is just my suggestion but why not instead of using a mirrored walk forward animation, use the same walk forward animation but played in reverse so he keeps facing the opponent
or if looking away from the opponent is how's intended, why not use the turn around animation at the begining and the end of teh walk backwards animation so the change of direcction he's facing doesn't look incomplete

I 'think' I might have it somewhere in an old hard drive I have somewhere too...
but IIRC it was only compatible up to Re:act, it didn't work with Act Cadenza and sure it won't work with Actress Again
