I've been looking at these resources for years at Spriters-resource.com. But, I always found something else to code. Some cool stages came from this.

So I'm back with another stage pack! I did the NES version a couple years ago. Now the Turbo Grafix/PC version. A few animations, but I kept it basic. No zoom. No superjump. No random chicks walking back and forth at the shopping centers (although there's a pretty good chance that will change if my instincts are correct). 30+ stages. Grab the pack and load'em up!

Makes sense. Alice is one of my mentors. I've learned from a couple creators. But I learned the most from Alice/Arias/Margatroid. I consider him to be the G.O.A.T.

There is a lot to learn from the stages that those two made. I really look up to them and many other stage creators, including you.

Very. Well. Executed. I particularly like the tree sway. I've only seen 2 people use this correctly or even at all in the last decade. Tatsu is one of them. I'm studying your stage as I type this. Got it.

-The left side of the roof misaligns during some moves. It actually appears in you video.
-The back tree on the far right hangs of the island a bit

I was making you a detailed list of issues I found in different stages until I realized you were mirroring to cover the tops of a lot of these. You gotta stop doing that man. Most of these where you've done wouldve been easier and looked nicer if you just created more floor pattern and just move the natural sprite art to the top.

I finally saw this comment. Guild was down. I didn't t do that, man. That's what the rips looked like. Some of them I noticed and others I didn't.  Check out the resources at Sprite Database.

I've been to USA a few times as a teenager (last time 1999) and I've visted the American Museum of Natural History in New York, that stage reminded me about that alot

I'm just going to go ahead and try and speedrun issue fix the stages. I've already touched up the floor and restored the missing crowd animation to your Circus Colosseum.

Got some cool, retro, side scrolling goodness for yah! I present the Captain Commando Stage Pack! This is from the Arcade version. Sprites ripped by shunninghaung. A few have animations, although some of them weren't ripped. So I created animations myself. I only did 10 vids, but there's actually 23 stages. Click the link and battle from the City to Callisto just like the Commandos did. Enjoy!

Seems like a pretty good debut stage to me.

I second this. All that is missing is parallax. I know you just started, so I understand if that's out of your wheelhouse currently. But, definitely consider it for a future update. I'd be happy to help when the time comes.

Well your zoomdelta fix worked...creates a line of exposed void at the bottom but that's easily fixed by boundlow -1.

I couldve sworn animations werent compatible with parallax. Couldve swore I saw a tutorial explicity stating that and how to try to get around it, so my bad, but on the plus side I just did some experiments and it absolutely works so I just learned something important for future stage creation myself. So thanks for pointing that out.

No problem. I know the tutorial. You didn't imagine it. It's just outdated. We used to use bgctrl to make parallax floor frames appear and dissappear in sequence, which behaved like an animation. But 1.1 allows animated Parallax. Check out the bg and bgtut documents in the Doc folder.

Nah, I got the point.

The birds are a legitimate critique. They would look better if those two didn't collide. The rock can be as you said, just below the surface. I seen that shadow but imma keep that. The floor sliding is a result of zoomdelta on the ground. Remove that from all the sprites and that should make it all better. But me not having parallax is cap. It's subtle but it's there. Using parallax on animations is totally fine. But if I get a few more comments about the edge of the water, I may give it another try.

I like it, but of course I see the art issues and it's not something I can fix and popping the hood in Fighter Factory I can see you just straight animated it with frames instead of some other effect which probably means you already sunk quite a lot of time into it.

The way to get this to look near perfect would be to cut the art you want to have the wave effect right on the bottom of the white foam edge.

Currently it looks like you took the part of the source image you have umm "vibrating" falling below a seam you cut out for the beach. In order for the effect to work the wavy part would have to be instead on top so the foam is flowing over the finer sand detail without breaking/interfering with it.

I don't expect you to redo this whole thing, but it's something to keep in mind for next time you want to try that effect.


Edit: I didn't notice it at first but your floor is also sliding.

Believe me, I did this floor several times. And each time I'd miss part of the foam or have an edge to jagged. The mouse pad on my laptop is a bit janky these days. It sometimes double clicks which leads to chaos, lol!

So...I decided to give this A.I. generated stage trend a go. I'll label these stages A.I.G.S.(Artifical Intelligence Generated Stage). I encourage other contributors to do the same.
