I think using other ppl's work to compile and make money is not a good idea.

Sounds like printing some "online comics" for someone asking you to do it and selling them.

Or download some mp3 files online everywhere and putting them in a zip archive to sell it to someone.

I'm not sure my exemples are ok, but, this is the idea.

Downloading mp3 files or comics without rights is infringing on author's rights in the first place even without selling intent.

But if someone asked me to put together their own mp3 files or comics which they have the rights to, in this case, chars and stages which are available publicly and on forums, and I accepted to do it in return of being paid for my time and effort, I believe I'm in my right to do so?

A mechanic is "incompetent" to grow vegetables in their own yard, because they don't have the knowledge and time to plant, so they ask a farmer to do it.

Is the farmer scamming the mechanic by selling him his vegetables?

Are those people incompetent, or just competent in other areas besides Mugen because we need people doing other kind of stuff like being doctors treating Covid, firefighters etc... and they don't all have time to sit down to download chars and learn how to use select.def.

There's already a person compiling Mugen games on Fiverr and getting paid for it.

Here's a copy-paste of a testimonial from a buyer:

"I didn't know how to use mugen and make characters but the seller helped with everything and he did exactly what I wanted"

Isn't the seller actually doing a service to these people?

If the buyers are contended, where's the problem?

Do you usually leave positive reviews to buyers who scam you?

It's like: "Hey man can you add this and this chars/stages to Mugen and send it to me?"
"Sure but I'm not gonna do it for free, for x chars/stages how about $20 bucks"
"All right"

I fail to see the "criminality" of this, please clarify if I'm missing something.

Hello, I've been reading a bit on here about the legality of commercializing Mugen.

I understand Mugen license does NOT allow commercial use. Even though Elecbyte is a ghost now. Someone on the forum said that you can commercialize a mugen game if you don't include the exe and other files, and have the client go download them on their own.

So if my work consists in compiling Mugen chars, stages and a SP for a client, can I then send it to them while giving them instructions on where to get the Mugen executable in exchange for monetary gain, and do this on platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, without breaking the terms of the license?

Hey, combo text in Lightworks by Guno screenpack for mgn 1.0 reads "rush". I want to change it to combo.

Which file contains it? And is it a sprite or editable by text only? Thanks

Hello, I don't know if it's just my Mugen but Dark Phoenix life drains extremely fast no matter what button I select her with and this makes her unplayable.

And thanks for the characters they're super mega awesome and there are some many! Are they all edits from other authors?

The sprite look good.

Please make him walk instead of levitate.

1) This way he will look more imposing and dangerous, because you KNOW he can levitate, but if he's walking, then you know he's holding back. Just do this Logan. Anyway he will be a boss character 100% I assume ? Supes is not the type to go toe to toe with CVS SNK and normal charas without a handicap.

2) When we actually use the fly command it will be better, because we can toggle between walk and fly, but fly all the time is no fun people will quickly get bored playing a bird a remove the char.

3) Last step after all is well and done would be incorporating interactions with DC and Marvel characters like Batman opening would hold kyrptonite, what would be cool is that having an effect in battle and not just for the show, but I don't know about coding that.

Please do the walking thing. Guys back me up on this.

- Levitating is for snob or evil aligned chars like Magneto and doesn't fit Supes style but you HAVE to make an Evil Yellow Lantern (Injustice) available with pressing start, and THERE make him levitate instead of walk.

For a new MUGEN.

NoZ's Legacy looks nice, although I'm thinking picking the normal portrait version because adding like 5 portraits every time for each new character in the custom portraits version for me looks like more a chore than fun.

Last SP I used in my last Mugen was GunO's Lightworks :



This is the style I like, dark and simple, no bright colors or weird stuff.

Reu's Dragon Claw, definetly.
Warusaki's Jojo, although they are quite broken and cheap with some infinites. I believe there is a patch findable somewhere that fixes some of their issues.

Does Mugen Guild have a real-time chat discussion system/sub-chat somewhere ? We 100% need that. Even Mugen Infantry had a Xat.

Pretty sure i5-4210U with GTX 850m can run OpenGL and any 2d application with max eye candy, but...

Stability it is - A.K.A let's just go with 1.0 to avoid further complications.

Oh question : Are characters posted in the 1.1 content sub-forum working on 1.0 ? And the stages in the 1.1 sub-forum, are they working (without zoom ofc) with 1.0 ?

Hi Mugen Guild,

I am back to MUGEN with a better computer, I am not into coding very much only gaming, I was wondering which MUGEN should I install now the 1.0 or the 1.1 ? Is 1.1 the last version to date and the best ? Do all characters stages and screenpacks of ancient versions work with that one ? Or which MUGEN version would you say is generally the best ? And from where to download ?
