That doesn't seem like it would be a problem though, since Mugen creations are compatible with Ikemen Go? i.e. you could have some team members working only in Mugen while still using Ikemen as the engine for the game.  Unless I'm missing something...

The spriting quality is pretty good and would match SF2 style with no major problem.
But I can definitely see flaws about how characters moves.
It can be fixed. Same for the way El Fuerte hits ground when falling or having only the arm moving when punching (instead of full body)

The amount of work you did for all of that is incredible.

these sprtites definitely deserve to be used in actual SSF2 type characters!

By any chance, can you post a preview of anything moving??
Video or animated gif?
I would like to see it for few characters.

I truely like the concept of this game, but it's very hard for me to believe such a fantasy game can exist.
I mean, without working like 15-20 years on it. (perhaps I'm just too slow compared to you guys)

I just want to see something you guys sprited, moving... not necessarly with coding and all, but just to see how it actually moves.

If you have template of the code structure you want, the coding can be done very fast.
Actually SF2 type characters can be completed in a bunch of days/weeks if the ressources are already ready.

I think, I can help complete some of them. Even if I'm not really a coder/programmer.

Be sure to prepare the templates well, and the coders will complete the characters in no time :)


BTW : no Sakura in the roster? She would have been nice in SF2 style, since this is a kind of dream match. ^^

yes, I will change the shoes. But i am being very slow because of my lack of experience in pixel art. I am thinking in start over using Erina's sprite as base instead of Yuri's...

I am just making shure that there is no other character i can use as base to restart.

Even if your edit looks very good, I would suggest to use Erina's base to spriteover in CVS style.
But your test is actually pretty good! You still can keep the stance and adapt the other moves to this style/proportions etc. You decide.

I like the idea as well!
I saw some kind of similar projects in the past since the beginning of Mugen.
This one looks interesting too.

My only wish is the project to actually exist and not stay like a fantasy game forever.

I know "classic" spriting is not the easiest one... ^^;

EDIT : BTW I always had this fantasy to upgrade Super Street Fighter II X with new characters from SF universe.
Initially, my pick was Birdie (SFA1 version) when I noticed his sprite style in this particular game is very similar to The last sprited moves in SSF2X...

For your project, the size of still make me hesitating about the possibility to complete it in "one person's life"
Sure the team will be helpful.
But why not making a first build of the game with most SF2/SSF2 characters + 6/8 more characters?
THen go ahead with the future builds...

If you ever use 16:9 display, please don't make the characters looking too small on screen. or too giant.

I think it will be a lot of work to resprite most of her beside of head.
I hope she will not take the moves of Yuri but have her own move list.

Interesting thing is I had nearly the same idea but with Tamao... and Yes, using part of Yuri's body as well for the idle stance...

I would like to upgrade DW's Yuka' sprites as well, since the character is already done.
But as you all know, I'm very slow, particularly when I have to also code stuffs by myself. ^^;

About Erina hair's reference, you should keep Erina's hair sprite, and edit the lines and shading with some CVS2-type references like :
Maki(pony tail part only), King, Rock Howard...

Hi, I got this idea recently, and since I'm not sure if I'd do it for real, I post this to remind me to do it eventually or not...


13. Lucia: the SFVAE edit
I became so happy when Lucia appeared in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, and I became happier when I discover she still have his clasic costume from FF3 (as Nostalgia outfit) and that her moveset is similar to the invented one I did, which makes me proud to make her similar than official Capcom version.
With those things said, I was thinking to make an edit of her with her accurate moves from SFV, her (Japanese) voice in SND instead (modified) Cammy's voice, her paletes from Nostalgia costume and even a new portrait (the one above). However, I'll reuse the FF3 sprites instead some of the new SFA/CVS sprites out there of other Lucia in MUGEN (probably with my copy-paste coding) since none of them pleases me enough to change her, that's why I made an edit of what I did than start something new...

I just noticed again your possible Lucia WIP.
I would go with the SFA type sprites even if they are not perfect.
Of course FF3 are the more accurate ones. but I don't like the idea they are very small, less colored, and have a very limited number of frames.
Also, animation is a bit stiff in FF3.

I even thing the best base would be the first edited version by NinjaBR (of course, the sprites are overly sexualised)
But I'm pretty sure, the sexiness can be toned down.

Very good news!
I'm glad to see Evil Satomi have a chance to exist as well.

I discovered VG series with Mugen in very early days of Mugen.
After some years, I had the chance to test some of the games and watch the anime. (very high quality visually)

Even if the sprites are a bit stereotypical (long legs, tall charcters with very slim bodies) They are good base for good charcters in Mugen.
Hope for more.

I really like your upcoming projects.

I hope one day you can complete AODK characters you started. Like Leonhalt, Bobby, Fuuma.

Since there has been an increase on dragon ball female chars popularity,what is going to be the next dragon gal.
Is there one planned?

I wonder this since there hasn't been that much of female characters made for mugen specially the dragon gals take for example this

I wish videl was made for this since would expand more,not only that it would be one of the greatest additions to HDBZ specially if it has the original japanese voice (18 lacked this and people barely cared enough so they used stig87 patched)
Are there plans to add Pan since she seems to be the main character on the next movie so a GT pan or Xeno Pan would be great (great seiyuu on japanese the english dubbers sucked and are annoying as hell)

But don't wait too much for the community to make more female characters.
The best would be to try by yourself. sure you can have all the help you need.

I like both male and female characters, but 99,9% of the males I needed for mugen are already made, because they are popular.
So, I focus more on girls now, since "obscure" ones / less popular ones have very few chance to be completed. (particularly in a pecific sprite/gameplay type)
