The majority of FX are placed behind the sprite, and the ones that overlap only cover a small amount, so it does not remove the utility of the sprite. Its also important to mention that majority of the FX are mostly placed for display (with exception of aura), so thats why.

Finally some peeps on mfg are starting to fuck with dokkan, it's more addicting then sweet sugar walls. Im definitely hyped for the new kaioken festival.

Here have a guess how SPD is done,

I guess i understand it, although its more or less a small improvement of the original sprites. Would be cooler if it was a bit more innovative, but that's just my opinion.

And yeah I try to mix the best of both worlds so it can appeal to both styles, since they are quite similar.

depends on situation,if you draw it from %100 scratch its actually better than actual offical sprites,howewer if you draw extra stuff or edit already existing sprites,it looks kind of dull.The only thing I don't like about that style is how hair is  drawn.There is also another style inspired from JUS called SPD which is way better actually.

I tried my own renditon of JUS aswel, around the time Extreme Butoden was released and DragonBall Z sprites skyrocketed in quality.


I think it came out pretty well, there's still much to be desired with this sprite style though in my opinion.
