how do i tone down AIs?

PotS

Usually, look for random triggers in whatever file the AI is coded on (has to be in one of the negative states) and decrease their values. Like replacing Random<250 with Random<100 and such.
Or if there's none of those at all (ugh), add some.
You can help with Ikemen GO's development by trying out the latest development build and reporting any bugs on GitHub.

Depends on how much you want to "TONE" down their AI.

You can always just head to the .cfg file and turn off AI, but wheres the fun in that? o_O

whodawhat

i dont want to do that

PotS

Without random triggers the AI acts like a robot, always does the same thing in a given situation. Think old MK AI's.

Wouldn't giving a char more moves lessen the chances of one acting like a dummy?

But then without triggers and AI, all the computer is doing is button mashing.

whodawhat

ok, do i have to change all of the random triggers?

Not all, changing all the triggers can corrupt your char and make him throw out random chains.

whodawhat

so which ones do i change?

If your trying to tune an AI down, you might want to mess around with the
triggers that link to a certain move.

Ex) Lets say your trigger says that you want to throw out a shoryuken at
position X, this varies depending on how far your opponent is. So lets say since your not close enough to be able
to throw out a shoryuken, a link shows that your position is perfect for warping towards your opponent
making you and your opponent closer, and thus chains a shoryuken. (warps - shoryuken)

So if you were trying to mess with a move that creates more moves, you best find out what moves they are and
how they link with one another creating chain combos.

A random short punch can lead to many different chains, like so.. short punch = blocked: can lead to crouched short kick and then into standing short kick, and into more chains, depends if the AI creator knows his way around.

Sorry if this confused you. :-\

that didnt really help

and what about the random triggers?

Rōjenomu

trigger with a random value in them
like Random<250 means the chance it triggers is less then 1/4
thus making the AI more toned down when in <500
(it goes to 999 i think so 500 is roughly a 50/50 chance)

so lets say you have an AI trigger command
most of the time that is an big line which you cant perform
look that up in the 2nd part of the cmd
and add additional trigger(s) which randomises its occurence more often
so the AI gets weaker

like
trigger1 = (p2bodydist y = [-24,5]) && (p2bodydist x = [45,150]) && StateNo=0 && random <=65
