Greetings all, I've watched and looked at tutorials and posts about making the Mugen characters respond using the AI in their CMD files.
But as far as I have seen there seems to be no way in making an "easy" level character. All the tutorials mention putting in inputs that are impossible for a human to perform.

My questions are as follows:
1) Any way for me to create solid Easy, Medium and Hard AI CMD files for characters?
2) How would I do this?
3) Is there a way to make MUGEN select one according to the difficulty chosen in the mugen.cfg file/options area?

Bastard Mami

the impossible commands thing has nothing to do with difficulty.

Now that we have established that, can anyone inform me how to make a character more or less difficult?

Bastard Mami

make him play more or less clever. the two simplest ways are to make the easy one perform no combo, medium one perform regular combos and hard one perform complex combos. also there are some "sure fire" situations like how well will the ai block as well as punishing jumping oponents with antiaerials, you can cahnge the frequency of those depending on the difficulty.

the easiest way to have multiple difficutly ais would be to make 3 different ai files and just make it so it is choosen in the char'0s def files.

Allow me to verify what you said

Easy: regular moves, super moves, no combos, no hypers

Medium: Regular moves, Super moves, combo's with low random setting, hypers with low random setting

Hard: Regular moves, Super moves, combo's, hypers

I assume the line:

trigger1 = random < 30

is what controls the likelyhood the character will perform that move? 1 would be incredibly rare and 100 would be almost certain?

Bastard Mami

kind of, random goes all the way from 0 to 999.

Right, thanks for the info, I think a little trial and error is in order.
