This started off as something for my own enjoyment but I started to think I'd like to release it. I just needed to get it cleared by a couple of people. I've gotten it cleared by both Cyanide and MugenHunter, so I've officially got full permission to do this.

I put most of the important info in the readme but a quick summary is that I basically took Cyanide's Amy Rose, took the required sprites and sounds from Sonic Battle: ME so it will work in normal MUGEN, took a bunch of stuff from MugenHunter's Amy and injected it in (using Daniel Sidney's sprites), and then added a bunch of stuff that I thought made sense for her to have.

You can find all the information (including screens and youtube vids) and downloads at my site:
http://uglook.tripod.com/mugen/amyrose.htm

UPDATE 1: I've released the second version. The information is in the readme but basically, I added a bunch of defensive moves since she was incredibly lacking in them. Also, there is now a Japanese voice pack and it also comes in "chibi" format.

UPDATE 2: I've released version 3. You can get it at the site. Also, here are a few vids of the latest version:

mugenhunter admits to getting so caught up in his work that he neglects his emails and other things. so cut him a little slack, at least he admits to his problems.

but on another note, i am quite jealouse i can't test this character right now, the premis of super amy sounds wicked awsome. i'll leave my review as soon as i can.
holy crap, i'm back and stuff... if anyone cares.

I didn't know that about MugenHunter. I've never seen him post anywhere so I assumed he not very actve. Thanks for the clarification, though.

I've uploaded the new AI file that I've been tinkering with. It should help a bit (but I guess that's for all you to decide :p).

And also, part of the reason why I wanted to put this online is to see how balanced it actually was, so please, if you have some input, please give it. I only have one pet peeve with criticism though: if you simply tell me that there is something wrong or that some part of the character sucks or is imbalanced, I find that largely unhelpful since the reason WHY such and such doesn't work is not clear. That being said, I've already spotted some potential problems while messing with the new AI; however, it's probably better if I get more input and try and culminate it all in one release than trying to constantly fix little details.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Gotta admit dude, this is a good edit. but a few Visual suggestions:

~please PLEASE make a chibi version! I'm not a real big fan of blown up sprites and this would please other chibi sonic fans. I know about the X/Yscale thing but the attacks look like they wont scale down with the sprites.

~If you know somebody or good at editing sprites, theres a shading difference between the sonic advance 1/2/3 sprites and the sonic battle ones. its small but fixable. Also another editing thing this may be a little more difficult, Amy's eyes keep changing its the difference between advance and battle sprites. Looks odd to me...

Now if you want, I'm currently replaying the advance games and I've heard you can have video in arcade storyboards. i can record Amy's ending from either 1 or 2? Also if you need any more sounds i made a SB sound pack a year ago and just re-released it.

Good luck with this Amy rose!

Hey thanks :).

Sure, I can make a Chibi version. I didn't make her chibi to begin with because I'm personally not a fan of small characters, but if there are people out there who enjoy the small ones, I'd be perfectly willing to make a small sprited version of everything (I've already written a java program to rewrite the AIR files to double the size of hitboxes for another character, I'm sure I could edit it to reduce them, and also resizing all sprites in half in fighter factory is three simple actions). But since I'm not a chibi fan, I do have a question about physics: should I keep all knockback and jumping and stuff the same or should I scale all of that in half so Amy plays just like her bigger version on a smaller scale?

The second one, I unfotunatly can't help with ;_;. I've always been plagued by not having an artist to help with my projects ALL of my life and I've had to use my horrible horrible drawing skills. In fact, my main tools are MS Paint and VERY basic photoshop. I'm perfectly fine, however, with anyone wanting to edit the SFF files themselves, since I'll never be able to do it.

As far as the storyboards, the ending storyboard currently IS the ending from Sonic Advance 1. If you have the right programs, it's actually not that hard to do (just time consuming, which is fine because you can make it automated). But thanks for the offer :). As far as sounds, I'll take a look at your rips, although I think Cyanide got most of his sounds from the battle game. Thanks for offering them up though :).
EDIT: LOL. The japanese ones are hilarious! It's like she has a completely different personality! I think I'll make a jap_snd file, just for the kicks. Thanks for these!

Thanks for your input :). Much appreciated!

I suppose flashy sparks are nice, but I'm not sure if they fit with Sonic characters. I guess it really depends on the sparks.

As far as MvC gameplay is concerned, I've become wary of it as of late. I used to be okay with it (I actually really like Sander's Wolverine) but after downloading some more MvC characters, talking to my freinds about it and reading up on its gameplay, it seems... I dunno. My thoughts on it haven't really solidified, since they are not fully informed yet (I haven't played the original games).

Thank you Thank you Thank you!! Well keeping them the same would be good since you dont want her super jumping around and such like her bigger version it would look off.

Many of the mugen players here are sprite editors. go ask a question in the assistance area and somebody should help you get started. maybe some sonic fans around here can help!

Really? Well i didnt play through til the end of her arcade mode so its my fault. Thanks for taking a look her japanese version is different i should know SB japanese was the first one i played since it had an english version and was a little more unedited then the US version (some cursing but minor like "damn" & "hell")

You can always make it an alternate file to add-on or replace the orginal.

oh just to let you know, some sounds have silent gaps in them they require some sound editing. use a program called "all editor" its the easist known editor for wav and mp3 files.

Hey, sorry I haven't been around, just been busy with school and other stuff.

I've made all non-sprite and sound related changes, but since I can't find the messed up sounds and can't fix sprites, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out in the classified sections.

Speaking of which, I've put up a request in the "classified section" and hopefully someone will be able to help out. I'm holding off on "chibifying" the character until I can get the sprites working right.
