UPDATE: The project is now cancelled. Thank you for your support through the course of its life.

Pencil from BFDI is swooping into MUGEN, the first of a planned line of BFDI characters!

Features For Finished Product:

* Planned custom A.I. (UNSTARTED IMPLEMENTATION)

* Planned 6-button character (IN-PROGRESS IMPLEMENTATION)

* Planned to snap in half upon entering the liedown state when killed with a heavy attack. (UNSTARTED IMPLEMENTATION)

Specials:

Point Stab: Looks like a dropkick, but causes both Pencil and the opponent to freeze for half a second upon hit (similar to Daniel's Paralyzing Pandemonium projectile) until Pencil pulls herself off of the opponent. The opponent then falls, and Pencil is lightly launched away from the opponent. (UNSTARTED IMPLEMENTATION)

Summon Ice Cube: Pencil summons Ice Cube as a striker. Ice Cube slides across the stage until she either hits the opponent or is hit by the opponent. She is then knocked back. (COMPLETED IMPLEMENTATION)

Summon Bubble: Pencil summons Bubble as a striker. Bubble rushes in, and throws a slice of Yoylecake at the opponent. (IN-PROGRESS IMPLEMENTATION)

Supers:

Leafy Detector: A laser that does less-than-average damage, causes the opponent to "spaz out" (go into a state that makes them switch from random hit sprites) and slowly raises them into the air. This is done for four seconds, and afterwards, the enemy is dropped, dealing damage depending on the height the enemy has gone. (COMPLETED IMPLEMENTATION)

Eliminated: The opponent is scooped up by the contestant launcher, and they are flung into the TLC, dealing severe amounts of chip damage upon landing. (IN-PROGRESS IMPLEMENTATION)

Nice project, are you drawing his sprites? Was this character created by you? I don't know what is BFDI.

Good to know you are back to the mugen, I am doing the same by now and I love this different characters. I will be looking for news about your character.

Unfortunately, I'm having difficulties with my computer, so I have to work from a different laptop. Progress on Pencil may be delayed severely.

Excuse me for the lack of updates, I'm having difficulty making significant progress with Pencil. But don't worry! I'll try and keep updating this thread.

Progress on Pencil is slower than expected, but I hope to get a beta of Pencil out by Valentine's Day. All that needs to be completed is removal of non-implemented features, jump sprites, hitsprites, guard sprites, and crouch/aerial attacks.

Unfortunately, I doubt I can get a beta out by Valentine's Day. I'm gonna aim more realistically and go for a Summer Solstice release.

I'm going to be redoing all of Pencil's animations using a more reliable method.

Just going to say this since I never updated this with such an announcement, but Pencil will be cancelled until I can find a more reliable way to create sprites, maybe find a program that can create a character skeleton with replaceable, poseable limbs. But for now, the project is cancelled.
