Hi guys. I don't know the first thing about actually creating a character, but I know extremely basic things like how to edit starting life, super meter, etc.

I am looking to edit the damage values of moves now.

I took the Simon Belmont found in ths thread:

I've edited the fire whip command, and his starting super meter. Currently the fire whip does no damage when blocked, I want to edit it so that it does 1 chip damage per tick when blocked.

I am pretty sure I can do this in Notepad as it seems like it would just be changing a value, but I don't know where to go to do that. I've poked all around the files, I can't seem to find anything on my own for that. It doesn't help that the thing is written in Japanese either.

Thanks for any help.

You must know how to edit the CNS state (somewhat experience)
Look for stateno being activated during the attack.
Look for all the possible hitdefs in that state, for every damage function.
If its damage = (damage here), (block damage here).

Ex
Damage = 60,0

Change it to
Damage - 60,1

And voila, you got what you wanted =x

Thanks! I did eventually find it, the damage was just written as "20" instead of "20,0" so a CTRL-F search didn't find it, I had to search for 2220 instead. Thank you again!
