i want to give a character a lifebar portrait from another character. can i do that?
if so, how?

-make sure the portrait is compatible with the character pallete

but is it with a ,0 or not?
because if its 9000,0 its most likely size 25x25

most of the time the 9000,0 portrait is in the beginning of the sff and almost all the time it shares it colors with the rest of the sprites its shared with
so you'll have to change the colors of the new picture with the given colors the pallete gives you

but what is easier is to rename the 9000,0 in the sff to another number
and add the portrait at the end of the sff as non shared with as group 9000,0

like 9000, 1 or 2 or 3
just make sure that it isnt already taken

ok, now how do i change the colors of the portrait?

if you change the colour of the portrait, you would pretty much be changing the entire charater pallete. if you change the little portrait to green and purple(like the hulk), some parts of the character will also turn green and purple. There is a tutorial on how to make pallete's somewhere on this forum if you still want to change it.
