Custom KOF Sakura Release

i would say return of the king but legally i don't have the title of king so i dont want to ruffle any feathers there.
this was a wip i've had since january and i stopped working on it around february to do development on my ikemen fullgame Battle Dudes, but now I decided to finish her up and i like the result.

very wel done, i like the sprites and animations, aside i miss some more air moves (hadou from mvc, air tatsu that other shotos have)

the darkgirl set is very good, i could do with less panty shots but oh well its sakura capcom tried adding as many as possible. i didnt want to include air tatsu cuz i just didnt feel like it. maybe i could have done something with it but i just didn't want to, as i felt like her divekick would be enough. the air hadou i also did not want to include for similar reasons even though i could have pulled it off by reusing her air jab anim and using something like yuri's raioken or ryo's air ko'oken. i just felt like one air special would suffice.

amazing sakura!! it looks like a lot of care was put into making her, though there's a couple nitpicks i have:


dodge and roll seem to trigger the opponent's proximity guard. while i like the idea of those actions being counterhit punishable, there should be a "fake" hitdef with guarddist = 0 to prevent the opponent from attempting to guard.

power charge having its own dedicated button while X+A don't have a macro is strange. down Y+B might work better for the power charge input while freeing up C as a macro for X+A. normally i wouldn't mind this stuff, but on keyboard for whatever reason, i'm not allowed to input a direction while pressing X+A or Y+B, which is annoying. ^^;

otherwise, keep up the great work! i'm a sucker for KOF-like movement and this sakura delivered. i've got a friend who's looking forward to your Battle Dudes game, so good luck with that too!!

That was just because I forgot to remove movetype = A on the roll and dodge states. I did not intend for them to be counterhit punishable although I did consider the idea. That should be fixed now.

Power Charge is a unique mechanic specifically for Sakura. In the larger context of my KOF characters, the HK button is used for a unique skill, whether that would be an install (i.e. Sagat's Angry Scar) or a certain attack (Tizoc), in Sakura's case it is a powercharge. HP is a CD macro and I prefer that over a roll macro, so I wouldn't have any available keys left for a roll macro. I've had ghosting/limited keypress keyboards before and while it does suck to have you just gotta get a good keyboard.

Thanks I've been hard at work to make Battle Dudes a legit fighter. I was thinking about posting updates on the forums, but given that they're pretty slow as of late, I've limited that to just the discords.
