Damage to PC?

I heard rumors that having too much content in your MUGEN my damage your PC.

Since, for obvious reasons, I don't want to verify this rumor,

Can anyone give me info on this?

O_o im not really sure about that, Though as far as my knowledge with computing is concerned, its virtually impossible unless they meant software damage.

this is bull. people have over 2000 chars on their mugen. I used to have 436 characters, some 70 something stages, and nothing ever happened.



NOW.... i heard that there was some High-res Hacks that DID damaged you PC... so.. can anyone verify that? and does the high-res hack from Randomselect suffer from this?

Only thing that's ever happened to me was MUGEN itself ran slower and sometimes was choppy or had slowdown. Even then, a quick adware and virus scan usually made it acceptable again.

Mugen never caused problem to my PC.

I recall one guy once had a problem with High-res mugen. In his case, he said that his chars got fucked up, though I really cannot see how this could happen, since Mugen doesn't write over chars files.

Mugen damaging PC ? I don't believe in it.

As with anything you download from the internet, there is a chance you may get more than you bargained for.
If you download characters from questionable sources and your computer is ravaged with viruses, that's not mugen's fault.  The best way to avoid this is to get characters from the author's site.

Although I did read somewhere (forgotten where) that HI-RES can damage PCs....

They should be a readme or something that usually gets posted with the HI-RES hack that states that MUGEN could crash more frequently than normal. Let me go look for it.


EDIT: Blargh, can't seem to find it, but I DISTINCTLY remeber something about crashing alot.

I remember that topic: I fooled someone who said he heard the same exact thing about the Hi-Res hack, and then someone slapped in my face saying he had the problem.
