The result of further poking around with the demo files - the topic tat mentioned this in GameFAQs seems to have been deleted, I found a link to it while checking the Dissidia forums:

http://imgur.com/a/5j8gz#3GmRD

Essentially confirms Gilgamesh is on the Chaos side, but the text next to the characters seem to be not unlike the one in the original, describing briefly the character concept - according to a guy at the Dissidia forums they are as follows:

Gilgamesh:
Concept: Scramble Fighter
"Pick a suitable weapon to attack, even himself can't predict the power"

Prishe
concept: Combo Maker
Freely combine/combo her attacks, link those with her original "super moves"
  (probably means HP attack here)

Sounds like each of Gilgamesh's attacks damage will be random (maybe out of the 6 you can pick - seems more likely to apply to Brave one that the HP ones) - maybe in one match doing great damage, but in another only 1 point of damage, to mirror his typical Excalibur/Excalipoor confusions.

Not sure about Prishe, but if that means Brave-to-HP links, that's fine with me.

Now these two are interesting.

Cid Rhaines perhaps? But the logo is white so it could be either Snow or Sazh. Then again there is no black FFXIII logo in the demo so we still don't know at this point.

I really hope but judging by Lightning's interactions with the villians , does not look likely anymore..... :shifty:
At the bottom the picture says "Do not touch the edges of the sign; also the bridge is out ahead"

Well, he won't be any cheaper if they're going to make him playable.

And please let that XIII flag be a placeholder to fool people or something, especially if it's supposed to hint at Snow.

I recall reading about the devs being interested in using Sazh in articles about the original game, so between that and the game already having 2 "monks", I doubt Snow has a chance.

Anyone remember how long it took for the previous trailer to get translated? I'm interested in seeing if there's something new or interested being said at least during that part when they give each character a little screen time.

Same. They said that if they ever made a sequel then they would more than likely add Sazh. Since they already have Lightning then it isn't impossible for Sazh to be included. Besides, he would make a pretty good rival for Laguna since they are both gun wielders.

A movelist's being extracted from the demo:

http://dissidiaforums.com/showthread.php?7200-Kraid-s-Hex-Findings-number-2-Movesets

By the 2nd page the Prishe and Gilgamesh EX modes start getting defined:

- Prishe's looks more like the samurai 2-hour ability from XI than the monk one, which is a reasonable adaptation, as the former is meant to let you combo by yourself moves (Weapon Skill in XI terminology) which are usually coordinated between different players to create what in XI is called a Skillchain, which adds extra damage from comboing WSs - thing is, you need TP, Tactical Points, to perform WSs, but those are build up by getting hit or landing regular melee hits, so you usually can't skillchain alone, but samurai in XI can sometimes. The monk ability affects mostly ragular melee hits and would be tricky to adapt, so it's a reasonable compromise.
All of Prishe's Brave attacks and hand-to-hand weapon skills, while the HP attacks consist on her exclusive attacks, a quested monk-only WS (Asuran Fists) and offensive white magic spells.
Elsewhere I read one of her extra EX mode perks is throwing pebbles, which sounds like a mild XI gag, as pebbles are one of the very few things monks can use for ranged attack, but do piddly damage, and Prishe should have range covered with Holy and the Banish spells... gotta wait and see how this turns out.

- Gilgamesh's unpredictability factor seems to be restricted to his EX mode, which mirrors his appearances as a summon, with some very good attacks/boosts out of 8 possibilities, selected randomly, with the possibility of getting Excalipoor to mess it all with with 1 point damage for the duration. Zantetsuken for Breaks is one of the possibilities.
Many of his regular attacks mirror his FF5 presence well - blue mage spells from that game, Jump as an HP attack, and one of hi possible EX modes is the Chicken Knife (in the game if increased your damage the more you escaped battle, and sometimes forced you to escape - here it boosts your damage the lower your HP is).

Looking interesting...

More info - different abbreviated translation of the same article:

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/02/08/dissidia_prishe/
http://community.livejournal.com/ffchaoticcosmos/336053.html

The combo customization thing could look interesting - FFXI's skillchain system is kinda intricate, and it's not simple to know which weapon skill skillchains with each, especially since they're different for every kind of weapon. When it works, you tack on extra elemental damage to the combo - I wonder if that'll apply here, and if the system will enforce the use of correct skillchains, or lets you connect anything with anything (in FFXI, sometimes the extra damage from skillchains isn't worth it compared to simply using your strongest WSs as soon as you can).

No idea which extra voice she could possibly get - off the top of my head no particular line from her stands out (a trio of annoying NPCs that interact with her have a few though) - whichever it is, hopefully it'll make a lot of sense when it's revealed.

As for her alternate outfit, tricky... I'd expect something from cardinal Mildaurion - but the description given in the andriasang article reminds me of Lady Yve'noile, something of a posthumous character whom still has a lot of influent in the Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia plots, which are somewhat related to Prishe as well.

Lots of new info today:

- A little more Prishe artwork nd screenshots, which are already translated: http://community.livejournal.com/ffchaoticcosmos/337063.html

- So there's this video and artwork contest SE is having in Japan where they want people to make videos and artwork about the game based on the new characters (for the artwork) or Lightning or WoL (for the videos): http://www.square-enix.co.jp/dissidia_012/contest/

- To give people something to work with for the video contest, they provided a few:
* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVDBQ9Y-p1g
* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlcOK-5pudY
* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBWiCkDqI5Y

- Those have already been translated, BTW: http://thelifestream.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6518&page=3

- Oh, right, there's also one with gameplay in the new FFXI stage, the Empyreal Paradox:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVORMPipAJI
Like in the original version, if you manage to look at the floor from high enough, you can see the Vana'diel continents (it was a bit of a plot point for the situation when you fight there - which happened to have a sort of alternate dimension thing going on)

- Famitsu article with several ne screenshots and info: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201102/10040197.html
Roughly translated: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/02/10/dissidia_012_dungeon_play/

- Lots of new info on Prishe gameplay (owes a lot to FFXI's skillchain system (only 1 weapon type, so not ascomplicated as this: http://images.somepage.com/ffxi/renkei.jpg ) - in dissidia terms, think more customizeable Onion Knight Brave-to-Brave links with extra damage tacked at the end), the Empyreal Paradox stage and its Omega version (drops characters' Brave like the Chaos Shrine in the original, but stores it in the crystal at the center - the closer you are the more it drains to add to stage Brave, but you can try and break it to get some back), and the Phantom Train (narrow, but the camera can move outside it, making the train transparent so it won't be as messy as fighting in Castle Pandemonium in the original): http://community.livejournal.com/ffchaoticcosmos/337780.html

I don't see Mash/Sabin joining the game anytime soon, but it' be great if they at least made him barely visible outside the Phantom Train...

Apparently there's a list a exclusive weapons for the new characters, which includes a set of knives for an unidentified character (or could be a subset only for some characters like the crossdressing Cloud set from the original) - if it's for a new character, some have hinted at Thancred from FFXIV (the other major known NPCs so far are either mages (Ysh'tola and Papalymo, iirc), a pugilist (Yda), and a gunblade-using boss guy (Zulvan), so those seem unlikely):

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/605802-dissidia-012-duodecim-final-fantasy/58200784

There are also some character intro quotes from Gilgamesh (mostly weapon-craving, refusal to become a summon again, and him and Jecht being bros) and Chaos:

Sure, it says Crescent Knife, but I'm not so sure the set of knives are actually knives; Balmung is a greatsword in FFXI, named after a greatsword from Norse legend.  Seems like a strange move making it a dagger.
