Hi guys,

My first post here, so apologies if this is in the wrong place (pretty sure it is correct...). Anyway, I randomly decided it would be fun to recreate Power Stone's Falcon into the Capcom vs SNK style sprites (my personal favourites).

I've got a bundle of simple animations coming together, but it'll be great to hear what you think:

See the full set on my DropBox

More importantly, I'm struggling with a moves list that I would really like for him. I've got the basic punch and kicks taken from the original game, but what about special moves?

I've got his special moves planned, the two types of Power Fusion attacks he has. So he'll need to transform kind of like Megaman in Marvel vs Capcom.

Still, lots more to go. I'll probably end up tweaking some of those as I'm not 100% happy with some of the animation, but you get the idea.

So far pretty good, he could have dashing specials that can then be followed with other attacks, dash kicks and air to ground attacks, he was based off a pilot so aerial attacks would look great on him.

for his supers he could turn onto his second form and do the super, then reverting back to normal. with that in mind, he could have a beserker barrage type of attack, and a hyper that had him flying up and then raining down projectiles downwards.

You are my hero  ;D
Falcon looks awesome, and those animations are great.

Move wise for special moves you can always use some of the iconic weapons for the game like the bazooka, the sword, wand, etc. And you can also use his wall moves where he hops off the wall and does a diving kick or something of that nature. You can also take some moves from Alfred Airhawk. For an Ultra, like Iced said, you should use his evolved form.

Trying to make a comeback

Nice project. I suggest moves similar to ken the eagle's bird shoot and eagle rush for specials.

Those sprites look amazing, nice work so far! Maybe Alfred Airhawk (Fatal Fury series) could be helpful to you for some inspiration.

are you going to set the transformation up only if the move/s hit or just go through the move with supper armor ?

do you want vids of the transformation?or is spriting just slower?you could look at lognirs wonder woman or mei fang for ref as to how a sprite can transform to act as a ref. or if your brave twelve

  • That guy who did that thing back then just because
This is awesome. Falcon was one of my favorite characters in the Power Stone games, as well as Accel. Used to kick arse using his power up mode, those rockets that home in on people, and his ultra the big bang rocket thing. XD

Hope you do well on this.  :sugoi:

Thanks for the great feedback so far guys - there's some great ideas for move sets in there already, so I'm going to look into those - thanks! I completely forgot about Alfred Airhawk, so he's going to be a good starting point I think. I'll be posting them up as I go.

In response to the questions:

Sorry I realise I wrote special instead of super move in my description. I intend for the super moves to be his transformations. The idea being he'll transform and do the move, then return instantly - so you can't play as the transformed version.

I've got some already, but thanks anyway!

WOW.

You should speak with Nestor, he has a Capcom themed full game project and this char fits perfectly.

  • He can break those cuffs!
Because no one can seem to get it into a flat 2D space while playing Power Stone 1 or 2. Camera angles are a bitch.

Btw 2D, I love you for this. That is all.

If you know what the character looks like angles should not be an issue. I assume 2DForever paid attention to the character art, that should be enough.

well i got my answer but i ment the method of implementation. when a move(super) is done some have to hit in order to complete the animation set other wise they just do a miss set.

super armor can prevent custom get hit states from being applied to the character but can be abused since the character can hit through being hit.

without making all your other characters in your mix compatible with every custom state having author and char name checks you have to do one of the 2 or theyll look glitchy
