Let's take you back to the year 1987. Nintendo of America was was at the top of its game, releasing some of the most popular titles for the NES. Such titles included The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man, Castlevania, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!... the list goes on and on. Little did we know at the time that these games would be the foundations for juggernauts of franchises that still exist to this day.

But as any Taoist will tell you, for every good action, a bad action must balance it out. And Fazbear Entertainment faced a series of horrific misfortunes. First there was an incident involving a hybrid animatronic/costume project that went horribly wrong, resulting in the death of an employee. Following this were the disappearances of five children, all of whom were last seen entering an Employees-Only room lead by a man in a Freddy Fazbear costume. Finally, the restaurant was forced to restructure when an animatronic's criminal database system malfunctioned, resulting in what was known as "The Bite of '87." While the victim was able to survive without their frontal lobe, the company was not able to survive with this terrible reputation. After a brief attempt at reviving the failing restaurant chain, Fazbear Entertainment was finally dissolved in late 1993.

Today, you are going to have a chance to relive both of these experiences. The restaurant where all of these events occurred has been lovingly recreated, following the strict limitations of the NES. This April, fools will know the joy of creation when they discover the fate of the five missing children. But only one question remains.

Yeah, turned them off because I felt it didn't really fit in with the 8-bit nature of everything. Might try to fool around with it, dunno yet.

Also I just noticed I accidentally forgot to check Pirate's Cove put in the transition frames for the side vents. When I grt back home, I'll update it.

UPDATED, link same as before:

- Fixed vent sprite fade-out issues.
- Also adjusted alignment for said vent sprites so that they don't clip.
- NEW Alternate versions of the stage!

In addition to the default FNaF2 animatronics one, I've added two more .def files that change things up a bit!

Jango Version


Replaces the FNaF2 animatronics with whatever I wanted to test my NES downgrading skills on.

Guest Version


Replaces the FNaF2 animatronics with sprites contributed by other Guild members in this thread! Obviously they aren't all there, but I will be adding more in the future. This version features sprites by:

balmsold
GarchompMatt
City_Hunter
First Lt. Ding
MotorRoach
Jmorphman

Give them some love if you see them, and if your sprite showed up but I didn't credit you, lemme know. I'm old(er), I forget things!

Next time I update, there will be more variations to the stage, and I'll have probably consolidated the palette a bit more.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the music situtation, or if I even need to do anything about it. I have Famitracker on my computer but I know dick about it, and it's not like FNaF has any notable music to port over to chiptune.

Honestly I think this stage works best with no music, because that's how a lot of the NES era games did creepy ambient areas, just plain dead silence.

Updated the main stage so that it's now compatible with a killscreen method I developed (the "jango" and "guest" variants are still the same). If you want to know how to add killscreens, check out this thread!
