Help with Adding new characters

Well, I know that I'm new here and I'm supposed to use the search bar, but that will take to long (for me, anyways).

Me and my friend Chandler both have different versions of Mugen. I have the "No Limit" version, or something to that matter, since it runs smooth and nice on my laptop, while my friend has a newer version; not the newest, but close.

Anyways, I've read the Readme and it confuses me; to add a new char, it says to put the .DEF file under the readme in the chars folder; so, I downloaded a Luffy, opened it with WinRar, extracted to MUGEN's char folder and copy and pasted the .DEF file under the place where you're supposed to paste it (I don't know where or what to do with it...I'm new, remember?).

Anyways, any help will be appreciated; all I ask is HOW do I add chars? I put the folder of Luffy in the right place (I think...), but after that, the readme is just...confusing.

Its like this, you put the folder of the character into the CHARS folder, the whole folder goes there.

Then you go to the data folder and edit the select.def, there you find places where you can write the NAME of the folders with characters

If you have a character named LUFFY.def inside a LUFFY folder, you just write LUFFY
but if you have a character named LUFFYisawesome.def inside a luffy folder, you write luffy\luffyisawesome.def

thats how it works, hope it helps you.
