HiRes Select Screen Question

I'm 'uprezzing' the stock kfm motif for HiRes mugen as a way to get familiar with it and here's my dilemma.
It actually applies to LoRes mugen as well I guess.

And here's a pic of my WIP.


As you can see, the space in between the 2 "Kung Fu Man" names is not the same.
The problem arises because I doubled the font size to match the original, but I can't increase the space in between the name lines.
I checked all over the system.def file and can see no setting to change this distance.

It should be somewhere in the 'Name' sub-section of the 'Character Select Definition' section, but I only see this:

p1.name.offset = 20,325   ;Position to put name
p1.name.font = 4,4,1      ;Set to -1 for no display
p2.name.offset = 309,162
p2.name.font = 4,1,-1

I tried seeing if there were undocumented settings (such as p3.name.offset, p1.name.spacing, etc) but to no avail.

Am I just blind and not seeing the setting for it or does anyone know of any undocumented settings for the system.def that handles this.
Or for that matter, does anyone know if this is hardcoded into the engine or if I'm missing an official elecbyte doc that covers this.

Sorry no, this can't be changed. Wish it could cos i wanted to use a larger font for my game and asked this EXACT question. After trying every suggestion it was agreed that it couldn't be done and you had to use a small font.

personally I think the second pic looks better as far as the names area is concerned

I agree, although 1 or 2 pixels of space would be even better IMO.

No biggie, it was just an exercise to see what I could and couldn't do.

BTW, thanks to Yahoo Briefcase constantly changing my pic addresses, I'm sure that no one else will be able to see these pics, so if anyone has any suggestions on where I can upload pics in the future, I would be grateful.
