I got EvE Battle for 1.0 to work,but I don't know how to add characters

Download vselect and it will take care of everything. Here is the link of what it does:

I already have it from the IMT Screen pack

Oh okay but your are still having trouble of seeing the characters in the screenpack? That doesn't make since since vselect searches for the characters def file, but it has to be put under the char folder for it to work unless you are using an outdated one or your characters are in the wrong folder. There are tons of tutorials on youtube how to add characters to mugen screen packs.

Can't he just open the select.def file and add the characters def names there?

E.g.:
Do you have a character named Arba, which is in its folder called Arba, in the chars folder?
Ok, go to the data folder and open the select.def file with NotePad.

Below the line
[Characters]

you add the line

Arba

or

Arba/Arba.def

and you're done.

If the character has different names between def file and folder name (for example the folder is called Arba and the .def file of the character is called Arba1), you can write:

Arba/Arba1.def

(or you can just change the name of the .def file, or folder of the character, you choose, and write the name in the select.def correctly.)

All without using another software.

Also, how can you not know how to add characters when there's all of this?

It worked from the first reply, now I need help adding stages, I tried to add my stages it didn't work, I tried entering it in the EVE Battle Def file

It's the same way as adding characters only that instead of adding them under [Characters] you add them under [Extrastages] and you must remember about
stages/
