Sorry about the late reply but I 'm very confused about order number.  I set up the order but I still don't fight the characters in the order I want to.  Also I want  certain stages to be their stage and I still fight them anywhere no matter what I do.  Please help I would really apperciate it.  Thank you in advance.

Look this has been asked a thousand times. I've answered it a bunch of times please people read through some old post or use the search button at least once please.

Open select .def go to the bottom of the page you will see something that looks like this

2, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0,

There will be two of these one for arcade and on for team arcade.

Basically you can set an order number to have up to 10 number ordered of fights. Right now you have it at level 1 and two matches. See how the 2 is there and it being the first order number that make two matches.

If you wanted to just be able to play all of you characters you could just change the number to how many characters you have. Keep in mind though this is selected at random so you may play the same guy twice.

It you wanted to have a boss type character as the last guy you fight then there are a bunch of combos you could do. If you wanted to fight every one else at random and fight a boss as the last guy then you would set it up like this: (Lets say you have 10 guys and a boss)

10, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0,

This would set you to fight 10 guys at order=1 and 1 guy at order=2 you would have to add order=2 two you boss char.

I think you can figure it out from that.

If you still don't get it use the search button because I answer this question about once a week. In fact you could just read through all my post and find it but I post a lot so I wouldn't do that.

If you still don't get it after reading all the other post on the subject then ask us something more specific about it then I don't get it.

Also the answer is in this thread. Look at this quote.

See "How do I use order number?".

Ok I'm going to be real nice now and answer you completely.

KFM, stages/kfm.def, order=3

This above make you fight Kung Fu Man at the KFM stages and you will fight him in order number 3
