Hyper BG or not to Hyper BG that is the question....

So i'm messing around with chars, ya know editing and tampering around with stuff.....and it hit me.....are hyper ports and backgrounds a real necessity? would not having them lessen the value of a char, suck some of the flare and eye goodies from it? What do yall (yes southern accent) think? I know its all about preference but I just wanna hear you guys opinion on it.....

it doesn't matter, yatagarasu. Street fighter, melty blood, all great games with no hyper bg ports or backgrounds

As does Street Fighter. Well at least SF3: Double Impact did



It really depends on the character, like I don't expect it in characters from older games with less aesthetic flair, but I imagine if CPS-1/CPS-2 were more powerful, they'd probably throw those in too.

It really doesn't matter for me except the hyper backgrounds marvel and DC characters have these bg's are really annoying,I would like to make all chars in my mugen use the same Hyper Background but that would take long and since I'm using Mugen 1.1 I'm having problem with most of them.
