It seems whenever a sound on a certain stage begins to loop.

It seems no one here has an answer to the music issues.

I am having a similar problem that someone has yet to address. Sometimes my stage mp3s don't play for some strange and random reason. Instead a hear a repetitive ticking and then my Mugen crashes and the SAME fvcking message pops up, saying Mugen had to close and "we're sorry for the inconvenience." Sorry my @$$.

same... pisses me off. especially in arcade when im up to the final boss and the music doesn't play. It ruins the battle.  why ???
Sloths. Unlike monkeys they are not like mankind. They are far greater.

The Loop thing might be at the mugen.cfg, and you have a "looptype =" set to 1 or 2. Usually, some people prefer the loop, but if you don't, perhaps it's best for you to set the proper filetype's music (If it's an mp3, then on the lines about mp3's) to "Looptype = 0"

Wtf...that thread was confusing. So I have to download that RAR file, to extract several files from it and then I had to double click a file from that to extract a plugin folder from it...do I just have to replace my old plugin folder with that one, and what would this have to do with the data folder...see this is why it's confusing. The first poster in that thread didn't make a lot of sense to be honest...and isn't this about music not looping or something? My mp3s just plain don't play sometimes even from the start...instead I either don't hear it at all or hear a repetitive ticking sound and in most cases, my Mugen shouts down like it likes to. These issues should've been fixed in the damn Mugen download in the first place...

Data folder/mugen.cfg (Open with Notepad)

The looping is in the system.def...and my problem has little to do with looping (the stage mp3s are looped by default anyway, they always loop on mine) the problem I'm having is the music just sometimes does not play at all...and then my Mugen crashes (and sometimes, it freezes) hell, on even my other computer I installed Mugen on just today (and they're both Windows XP). No one else has this problem?

Well the looping thing probably didn't apply to you  --;

Alright, I'm assuming now that the solution in the topic you linked to does not just have to do with looping but with mp3 performance overall, which is the problem I'm having and is causing fvcking mugen to break down all the time...

Do I just need to replace the plugin folder, since that's what it seems like I have to do, other than go to several files and change the loop to 1. I fail to see what this has to do with the data folder.

Plug-in folder. When you do the "Click on this to install for Windows XP" and all that stuff. Plug-ins will automatically appear.
And when it mentions your Data folder, it probably is a shortcut to the MUGEN.CFG which is IN the Data folder. And it'll also overwite stuff IN the Data folder, so make copies of it unless you don't mind changing some things around in your mugen.cfg after you're done installing the .EXE

Don't make it more difficult then it is. It's stressing me a little

I did all that was told and I got this message when I tried to open up Mugen...

What should I do now?

And umm...what was it supposed to copy over in my data folder?

you probably messed the video info in the config file.

Avenger

Fixed it...there were three different options on which mugen.cfg I wanted...the sounds are clearly better than before but I STILL got one same error message because mugen is a b*tch.

I'll see if the number of battles have increased after changing that in the select.def....

wasn't there the whole get rid of version dates and version numbers as well as the arcade lines (if the char has no ending /intro) in the .def of each char a way to stabilize mugen more?

I used to have it randomly shut down after the 4th battle and now it doesn't.  Although other mugen folders that I save for no reason still blow up and I am pretty sure I did the same thing there.  Worth a shot I guess

Is it really, and will this get my mugen to stop crashing all the time after a certain number of battles? I hope someone who is sure can answer this. :'(
