Need help making EX Moves

Hey guys, I'm breaking away from soundpatches and attempting my own full game. I just need a quick tutorial or guide on how to make a EX move, anyone able to help?

I understand the animation is needed and the command for it but I run into a problem where the move doesnt come out. So can anyone give me some pointers of making a an EX move come out properly?
