~~Makes me wish there were King Dedede sprites of this level of quality because I sure as hell would like a good Dedede for MUGEN~~

I feel like Ultra Sword could use an extra hit or two to give the Distortion Drive that aggressive oomph to it.

Also, will he have a different mid-air jump from the rest of your cast in a similar vain to how his multiple mid-air jumps work in Smash?

Also, an idea that just popped into mind is this WIP thread (or a future thread, whatever works better for you) is some sort of discussion on Copy comparability where authors could probably pitch in and suggest their own characters for certain Copy modes (preferably setting a qualification criteria so that you don't get flooded with too many author requests). Not necessarily a must, but it just sounded like a fun idea that came into mind.

You and me both. I would absolutely LOVE to work on King Dedede.

I wanted Ultra Sword to be as close to how it was in Return to Dreamland as possible and in that game, it only hits once for each enemy it comes into contact with.

So instead, I made the pausetime a little longer, made the slash effect bigger, increased the envshake, and had the medium slash sound play along with the hard slash sound, and I think it really helped add that extra oomph.

Ooh, that could be fun. It's probably best to do it here rather than in a new thread. First post has been updated.

Also, I might as well ask this now. What copy abilities should Your Haruhi and Mio give? I'm having a hard time deciding for those two.

Mio would mostly likely fit with the Mirror ability given her gameplay is based on mimicking moves referencing whatever she cosplays as.

Haruhi, that one may be a little tougher, but I'm inclined on Plasma ability due to having a fair amount of plasma based attacks in her moveset (I'd go with Sword ability to reference an RPG-inspired spin-off where Haruhi wields a lance, but Sayaka has that one covered already and there is other sword users I consider in the future). Beam is an alternative as a reference of her unknowingly giving Mikuru the ability to shoot beams from her eyes in the novel/anime.

Seeing as I'll be releasing Doppel Nanase around this month, hers will be pretty obvious; Suplex ability due to being a grappler.

That makes sense. I suppose I could use that cosplay logic for Kirino from DBFC as well. I was struggling to come up with an ability for her until now.

Nope, he'll just have the copy abilities from the main series Kirby games.

I will add compatability for the other smash bros. fighters though (Mario gives fire, Link gives sword, Pikachu gives plasma, etc).

I'm 100% Team OHMSBY now.

Since you're working on character compatibility with Kirby, I've been spending a few days compiling a list of characters for games like Eternal Fighter Zero and Touhou. However, I haven't finalized it yet as I can't think of what copy ability is better for characters with air/wind, water, all elemental magic, etc. Do you have any ideas? Since sucking Kuroko would give me Ninja, I think I got a good idea with any with teleportation abilities. I also have a list for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax too, but it looks like you are already covering it.

Also, if Kirby would fight himself and inhales him, would nothing happen?

I will still do detail and aesthetic feedback for the rest.

Characters that are associated with the element of water could give the Ice ability. Ice is frozen water after all.

I would associate Air/Wind with the cutter ability due to the cutter blades working like a boomerang (which uses airflow).

As for characters that use all of the elements, I'd just go with the element that is used most in the moveset (Even though Nine the Phantom uses fire, ice, and wind, she gives the fire ability due to it being used much more in her moveset). If the character doesn't seem to use any element more than the other, then I'd just pick one at random.

I might as well post what I got so far for the DBFC copy ability list:

Admittedly, Index, Toradora, Valkyria, and Virtua Fighter are the only represented franchises in DBFC that I'm actually familiar with. So, the list was mostly made based on each of the characters' movesets in mind rather than their source material. I'm curious to see your list as well.

Oooh snap. This looks to be one of your more ambitious projects. Looking forward to see how it turns out.

Out of curiosity are you considering incorporating Messatsu's Character trait identifiers for checking additional copy ability possibilities on incompatible characters?

Unfortunately, no. Stone is already a part of Kirby's main moveset, and there isn't enough sprites to work with to make stone it's own seperate copy ability.

I suppose The Thing could give the hammer ability instead, since stone and hammer tend to share the same properties in the main series.

Ah, I see you've implemented a projectile reflector for this character.

I wonder if this may be of any use for Kirby since it has worked for me on three characters who use this: http://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/versatile-projectile-reflector-186170.0.html
