That Thread is solely dedicated to OSM progress, advance, screenshoot, and eventually technical discussion or bug report.
Please keep it clean.

If you want to say something that is not related to one of the above subjects,or if you want to ask something, think about posting there :

If you want to request a feature it's one of the very purpose of the SourceForge Tracker :
->https://sourceforge.net/projects/opensourcemugen/

From now on i'll update directly that post.

Current detailed state of the project:
-The directx graphic engine is nearly completed, it certainly lacks some functions to handle specific cases, but that's not a concern now

-Sound and music streaming is provided by Fmod

-The menu system works but could use some more programming, it's still quite basic, menu items can have specific rendering to provide things like checkboxes, Gauges and counter. (used for options obviously)

-Program feedback is provided by two means : a basic ingame console, and a classic file log

-Character loading is still in an infantile stage, the game runs on-the-fly conversion at startup no manual things required, Sff are Fully loadable and can use 7 filter type (namely Eagle, SuperEagle,Scale2x,Sai,SuperSai,Hqnx, Experimental1), Snd are also fully loadable with 3 filters and a Denoising option (Linear Interpolation, Hermite Interpolation, 16 point Sync filter)(denoising is not implemented yet)
Air files only lack support for transparency options
Command are parsed and converted but it still need some work
Statedef are now parsed, and partly compiled (the compiler need some extensive error check/debugging)

Storyboard are not supported yet

-ScreenPacks support is quite basic

-Stage are not loaded

-The input system only accept Keyboard input for now

-The Virtual Machine uses a fixed length bytecode  with stack based execution ( the stack template is quite fast its code take only 27 lines)  the Vm uses 3 stacks : integer, floats, and a string stack (which in fact is an integer stack storing string indexes rather than strings)
For now the VM has 236 instructions/functions out of which 120 are implemented.

Status Update:
-Rewrote the parsers and a lot of advance with the compiler
