Problem with sprmake2

I am very new to Mugen, I just started last Tuesday and I've been working on my own full game. I'm not very far and I decided I wanted to have my own character. So right now I am going through this tutorial: http://www.elecbyte.com/mugendocs/tutorial1.html .

I am stuck on the part where I am making the .sff. When I input this, sprmake2 work\DarkJared\DarkJared-sff.def, in windows command prompt I get this error: Error opening input file work\DarkJared\DarkJared-sff.def, it says in the tutorial that I should check for errors but I can't find a thing wrong with my text file...

So here's my question, is there some alternative to sprmake2 that I could use or am I doing something wrong?

sprmake isn't seeing the directory you're talking about from wherever you load it.

Say you load it from D. But the character files are D:\mugen\chars\yourchar\yourchar.def

You would have to include the full path.

But download FF3 from the releases section. It manages sffv2 within a GUI which you may find simpler.
