Unless it's me, I think the awards should be based on reviews written RandomSelect's crew (KFM, Hoshi, etc.) instead of votes, that way creations that are overlooked but are actually quite cool can stand a chance against the overly popular ones.

The old one ran out it's lifespan, so it doesn't work anymore.  The timing you had could not have been any more better than it already was, it was like a miracle!

Nomination doesn't equal certain victory.  The problem lies with the perception of "Best" (or "worst").

Suppose we have...a sports car and a hybrid.  Most will vote for the sport car due to it's impressive speed, and no one will vote for the hybrid because "it's lame".  The sports car wins the votes.

Votes, AKA the biggest flaw in LAWL DUMOCRUSEE.  There is no panel of judges, just 16 year old kids voting for their car of choice.  They'd rather have a fast gas guzzler that goes vrrm vrrrrrrrrm instead of a slow hybrid car (that is also safer than the sports car) that goes meep meep.

How does this translate to the matter at hand, you ask?  The sports car is ANYTHING by Vans, POTS, and all these overrated authors who've outlived their MUGEN career span, the hyrbid is everyone else, such as newcomers to the community that have broke the 100% Queen of Fanservice King of Fighters accuracy norm or LAWL CEE VEE ES TOO GIMMIKS and went with something new and original.

That's entirely true. Many people who do excellent work don't any recognition at all. Not that it's really wanted, but when you are getting it because they've TRIED to do good work and have someone come in calling them overrated is facking obnoxious.

Also, KoF accuracy and cee vee ess as you put it, aren't always the best things. Other characters run under older award schemes have won and they haven't been accurate anything.

I believe the original broli by necromancer and kazu-bei won something. And that was an evil overpowered piece of evilness. Awards generally aren't given any credence about 2-3 months later anyway. Same as characters generally aren't.

Tetsu by XCB was not accurate, Jesuszilla was a new commer when he won 2 awards with Felicia. You're just hating on Vans and KOF for a reason I ignore. And it's true, he didn't get any recognition at first, and he's finally getting some.

It's called letting the people have a choice. If it was a "panel of judges", you'd cry elitism instead. You'd bemoan the choice of the few over the selection of the many. In effect there is no win scenario with you, because you're going to whine like a little bitch no matter what. And it's honestly disgusting.

Vans won because people felt his Ralf was top notch. Same for PotS with Rare Akuma (and mind you, Iced deserves billing there as well). I'll be quick to add too both Pots and Vans had other entries in the categories, and they didn't win. So if you're going to claim bias on the grounds of who made what, that alone blasts your theory up your bonghole.

As long as there is an RS Awards competition every year, there will be a change to let people vote. And there will always be someone crying why some things won and others didn't. Last year it was Vyn. This year it's you. Guess how much of a shit I give?

Could someone just lock this? I'll start a new thread once Hoshi completes the last few banners. We'd apparently hit a snag thanks to Alexlexus removing his work after the results.
